Academics & Faculty

  • The academic daily routine schedule in Central University of Rajasthan is quite hectic and students are kept busy throughout year, generally classes are on regular basis along with assignments and projects work given to students, all faculty members are qualified and experienced in field of teaching and they are very helpful and easily accessible to students for clearing doubts.
  • The quality of teaching is good.

Foreign Exhange & International Exposure

4 /10

  • An advantage of this program is that it is a unique program throughout the country as no other central university has this program that gives you specialization in actuarial science along with statistics and being an institute of national importance we have a large network of academic partners across the country and around the globe, in coming years as the university has just established  in the year 2009. A no. of students from Africa, south America, Russia and Asia have joined the university in recent years and students from university have gone on internship and research projects to Germany, japan and various other countries. The tuition course fees in the Central University of Rajasthan varied upon the destination and the duration of the exchange. Students were selected based on merit - both the masters GPA and past academic background. the mode of teaching in a university is strictly English-only thus making it easy for all the students from different parts of the country and from foreign also to understand the concepts taught in class. Depending on individual motivation and interest, students had an option to learn all different languages on campus. Students were recruited mostly within the country with a few exceptions in Asia.

Fees & Scholarship

8 /10

  • India is a very economic country to live and study in. At Central University of Rajasthan students could benefit from school scholarships (many are available please check the website as it evolves regularly) and also state sponsored student aids. I was awarded a merit-based Scholarship by the university for securing top position in admission procedure.
  • aLot of options are available please check out various websites to learn more about the available scholarships and eligibility criterion. There are no jobs available on campus and this is not at all felt bad as cost of living and other expenditures are quite low to live in part of the country.
  • Frankly speaking its all a matter of handling your finances and you can enjoy your stay here lavishly!!! The staff is very helpful in this aspect and they will guide you. Bank loans are easily available and the school has a partnership with major Indian bank as BANK OF INDIA whose branch is located within the premises only. A no. of students gets scholarship bases on merit as well as means.

Placements & Alumni Network
Know more
5 /10

  • As the Central University of Rajasthan is a new establishment of the placement cell here is somewhat weak but there are recruitment events organised off campus through faculty where some new startup companies from various sectors participate. Opportunities are available and you should be able to grab them. There are some International job positions also but are limited compared to national offers. The Alumni network is very well spread and are very dedicated and as per my personal experiences, they are very active and extremely helpful. You just have to have the right attitude and you will be well guided. PS: I have got internship offers with KPMG via referrals from Alumni - so I would give a 10/10 for this.

Infrastructure & Transportation
Know more
7 /10

  • Everything is available and the infrastructure is modern and up to date with contruction of the more new hostel and department buildings going on. CUR has one of the largest campuses across the nation but there is one negative point. The University is situated in Bandarsindri which is 55 km from Ajmer and 22 km from Kishangarh, the nearest town (if you choose live off campus then this impacts you) and is well connected by road( actually university is located on national highway-8 itself) which often experiences traffics jams due a toll plaza near to university. I might be over criticising this - the average commuting time from center of Ajmer is about 75 minutes. So you can judge for yourself :)

Hostels & Food

8 /10

  • Best housing option is to stay at the Central University of Rajasthan. Off-Campus housing in Kishangarh is relatively expensive and not many students do that.Although Ajmer is an economic city to live in - travelling daily via roadways could be quite hectic sometimes. CUR has nice hostels and I was in one of them. The experience was fantastic and the ambience superb.
  • A decent course fee of Rs.2200 for a semester for a nice double room, free wifi and a chance to make lot of friends within campus is not that bad afterall.
  • Lot of options  are available both on and off campus for food.
  • On campus there is a nice canteen (8/10) which is cheap, has a nice seating but the mess is just about ok. But outside campus you have numerous options. Budget depends on where and what you choose to eat but the range for a meal can be anywhere between Rs.50-80.

Clubs & Associations

9 /10

  • 10/10 on this one. Many student associations with a lot of activity around the year. The people are very helpful and friendly. If you happen to join the school you will have the chance to experience it yourself! Again amazing.
  • A Lot of clubs playing all sorts of sports that you can imagine in the Central University of Rajasthan. Football, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, Chess and whatever else you can imagine of playing. Only one drawback, as the political atmosphere here is yet in its beginning stage with no proper student associations you must be missing it if you come from any state university !!! But 10/10 again, if you want to stay out of trouble in case of a nuisance.

Social Atmosphere
Know more
9 /10

Very cosmopolitian yet traditional. I have students from atleast 10 different states in my class. If I talk about the whole school you would almost find all states on campus, with a few from foreign countries also. I experienced no racism and none of my friends did, students in general come from a decent background and are warm, welcoming, curious to learn about different cultures. Awesome parties, awesome people and an awesome ambiance. Sometimes I wonder with so many parties and events will I be able to complete my graduation with a decent GPA, and fortunately everything is working out well :) Inspite of everything about this school being great, my best souvenirs are about the social life at CUR.

PS: If you are a fan of drinking and driving, driving from Ajmer/Kishangarh can be very dangerous at night as we have already seen some serius accidents here on national highway-8 .

  • Student diversity is huge in Central University of Rajasthan.
  • Since people come from different parts of the world. Here, each and everyone is treated in the same manner and it does not matter to which caste or religion he/she may belong to and what is the economic status of him/her. The thing which matters is that he/she is the part of the university.
