Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, [BMCRI] were started in the year 1955 by the Mysore Education Society as a private college. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences [RGUHS] at present. Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute have been recognized by MCI. The university was handed over to the Government of Mysore in 1966 and was later affiliated to Bangalore University.

 BMCARI also has a well-established campus with all facilities like the Central library, It is one of the finest government medical colleges in Karnataka. It also has Hostels, a Central research laboratory, and other campus facilities. Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute Admission is done for different departments of medical science. Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute have Fellowship programs. The institute is involved in community health services around Bangalore.

The four major hospitals attached to this institution are Victoria Hospital, Vani Vilas Women and Children's Hospital, Minto Ophthalmic Hospital, and Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital. In total, they  cater to around 50% of the Bangalore population with a bed strength of around 2522

BMCRI Eligibility Criteria:

The college considers NEET exam scored for MBBS admissions. Eligibility conditions must be satisfied to apply for the university.

Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute Facilities provide Hostel's separately for both girls and boys.

  • Boys hostels can accommodate 300 Undergraduate students while girls hostel can accommodate 361 students including Undergraduates, postgraduates, and interns.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY

Daily Routines consist of different timings and Classes in different years.

Usually, the first years have 2 hrs of class in the morning followed by Anatomy Dissection for the next 2 hours followed by lunch and 2hrs of a Subject lab.

The second and third years have 2 hrs of Clinical/Hospital visits in the morning followed by 2 hrs of classes in the morning and 2 more after lunch.

the final years have about 3-4 hrs of Clinical/Hospital Visits in the morning followed by 2 hrs of classes after lunch. 

The quality of teaching is very good and so are the methods. 

The overall experience of the college is great except for a few quirks here and there


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

There are various Student Society's and Club's that one can explore in extracurriculars and Sports and etc.

There are 3 main festivals on campus. A sports festival, A Intercollegiate festival called Chrysalis and One intercollegiate festival called Cobalt Skies.

Life in college is generally Good but most students spend their time studying in the library or out of college.
