Founded in the year 1999, AMAR JYOTI INSTITUTE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY, NEW DELHI is affiliated with the University of Delhi. The institute is handling a Bachelor of Physiotherapy program that is of 4.5 years that includes six-month internship program too. Admission :-

General Rules & Regulations

Eligibility: General/ Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ Orthopaedically Handicapped- OH)/ NRI Sponsored Category.

The candidate must have passed Senior School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (12 years)/ Indian School Certificate Examination of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination/ Intermediate/ Pre-medical Examination or an Examination recognised as equivalent thereto with 50% marks or more (45% marks or more for reserved category) in the aggregate of four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English Core) as main subjects provided the student has passed each subject separately. Candidate should be declared overall passed on the mark sheet.
The candidate should be minimum 17 year of age on 31st December in the year of admission.

Note:

A SC/ ST candidate while applying for admission will be required to submit a certificate to the effect that he/ she belongs to that particular category from competent authority. List of authorities can be obtained from administration office of the Institute on request.

An Orthopaedically handicapped- OH candidate will have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by the Government.

General / Reserved Category

The selection of the candidates for the admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course will be made on the basis of the merit in an Entrance Examination. The Examination will be of three hours duration and shall consist of objective type questions that are based on Senior School Certificate (10+2) curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and will also include questions in General Knowledge.

All Candidates belonging to the General and Reserved Categories will have to appear for the Entrance Examination.

NRI sponsored Category

NRI Sponsored Candidates do not have to appear for the entrance examination. Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit (in qualifying examination i.e. 10+2) as well as an interview.

A candidate applying in this category must be sponsored by a NRI and the fees are paid in US dollars. Sponsorship certificate from the sponsoring NRI is required to apply in this category.

Note:

All the candidates Gen/ SC/ST/ OH/ NRI Sponsored should be medically fit for undertaking this course. If deemed necessary, they will be required to undergo a fitness evaluation by a committee constituted by the Institute.

Application for admission should be made on a prescribed application form issued by the Institute. The Prospectus can be downloaded from our website between the months of April- June. (Subjected to change).

Scholarship

“DR. PIYUSH TRIVEDI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP”

This scholarship is made possible by Mr. S. N. Punj, Punj Lloyd group in fond memory of the young dynamic physiotherapist who lost his life in a road accident. The scholarship of rupees 12000/- is awarded to one meritorious student from final year on annual basis. The selection is on the basis of attendance, marks, discipline, extra-curricular activities from 1st to 3rd year. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for a written test and interview.
