About the Organizer :

Pratilipi ( is a Times Internet backed publishing and reading platform based out of Bangalore, that is trying to make India well read again. Pratilipi boasts over 3500+ books,stories,poems and articles in local languages - Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil for now, with imminent plans to expand into more languages.

Found in Sept-14, in only 8 months Pratilipi already boasts of 550+ writers from 8 countries serving over 100K readers every month via its marketplace


 Problem Statement:

Go through our website ( exhaustively to understand the product and then suggest the following:

  1. Growth Strategies: Suggest scalable and repeatable growth strategies for increasing the consumer base (reader) side. You can include both organic and inorganic strategies to attract new users, retain existing users, increase engagement metrics like time spent on site, Daily active users etc {15 credits}
  2. Implement a strategy: Choose any one (or more) growth strategies suggested above and implement them showcasing its effectiveness and scalability. {20 Credits} Eg: Create a powerful social media campaign promoting Indian Language Literature via an interesting poster/video etc and use that to direct users to
  3. 12 Month Marketing Roadmap: If you were to be hired as the Marketing Head for Pratilipi, please share your 12 months marketing roadmap indicating priorities to help Pratilipi become a market leader. {15 credits}



  1. Cash Prizes: Top 3 teams will win cash prizes of Rs 15K, Rs 10K and Rs 5K respectively
  2. Certificates of Excellence: The next 10 teams will get certificates of excellence.
  3. Internship Opportunities: Candidates from top teams will be interviewed for full time internship positions (Stipend: INR 20K per month).
  4. Job Opportunities: Selected candidates will work directly with the founders and top performers may be offered PPOs (with above market salaries and way above market ESOPs)


1st June-10th Aug


  1. Final deliverable is a presentation answering questions 1 to 3. For question 2, please paste snapshots/write about how you implemented your strategy and present the outcome
  2. You may choose to supplement your submission with other collaterals (eg  excel, posters, videos) or anything else that you feel might strengthen your case
  3. Telephonic interviews / skype calls will be conducted with the shortlisted candidates/teams to understand their thought process.

  • The live project can be done in teams of not more than three members (participating alone is also allowed)

  • We value growth and customer delight over everything else. That means, for us, results and insights are a thousand times more important than pedigree or ideas.
  • Do not give generic ideas without specifics or use unnecessary marketing jargons; understand what you are talking about and back it up with data / experience.
  • Internship(s) if offered, will be based out of Bangalore for a minimum of 2 months (dates can be flexible depending on candidate’s preferences and schedule)
