About the Organizer :

The H&M Conscious Foundation is an independent organisation that is working to drive long-lasting positive change for people and communities.

The Global Change Award: is an innovation challenge initiated by the H&M Conscious Foundation. It takes on one of the biggest challenges facing todays fashion industry-to create fashion for a growing population while reducing its impact on the environment. By catalysing green, truly ground-breaking ideas the aim of the challenge is to protect earths natural resources by closing the loop for fashion.

 Problem Statement:

The H&M Conscious Foundation is looking for bold ideas - great, disruptive ideas that help close the loop for fashion by changing the way garments are designed and produced, shipped, bought, used or recycled.

The Global Change Award is looking for early stage ideas that add circularity throughout the whole value chain of the fashion industry – meaning everything from design, raw materials, fabric and garment production to transports, sales, use and recycling. The circular approach represents a model where products and resources are designed to have more than one life.

The ideas competing in the Global Change Award take on one of the biggest challenges facing todays fashion industry – to create fashion for a growing population while reducing its impact on the environment. The H&M Conscious Foundation  has initiated the challenge to speed up the process of closing the loop for the entire fashion industry; neither the Foundation nor the company H&M will take any equity or intellectual property rights in the innovations.
