About the Organizer :

Grofers is an on-demand delivery service that connects consumers with local merchants in the neighborhood. Grofers offers a wide assortment of groceries, fresh fruits & vegetables, cosmetics, electronics, bakery items, baby care products, pet care items, flowers and much more(coming soon!). Users can order through the app and get everything delivered to their doorstep.

Grofers started its operations with Delhi NCR and currently operates in a total of 27 cities. Grofers has raised $46.5 Million till date after 3 rounds of funding by Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global.

 Problem Statement:

Grofers is constantly looking to improve its service offering and delight its customers. In its pursuit to become the best hyper local delivery service. Grofers is looking for Student Leaders to help them make the product viral and collect valuable insights from first time users. 

Once selected the student leaders will have to do the following tasks:

  • Student Leaders must drive first time orders via students/friends/family
  • New users must then log in to the app via a unique phone number and make the first transaction (They get 20% discount on the  first transaction via the code CAMPUS20)
  • Student Leaders need to then take user feedback on their product experience and suggest one of the following strategies to counter the negative feedback. 
    • One social media strategy (eg: Make a poster/video, share it on Facebook/Whatsapp)
    • One emailing strategy 
    • One on-ground marketing campaign 



Following are the incentives students will receive on the basis of their performance 

 On top of the incentives and a great learning experience other rewards include:

  • Top 20 students with maximum orders would be offered PPIs for marketing roles (Only for MBA students)
  • The best performing student would get a cash prize of INR 7K

Task 1 : Student has to create one of the above strategies based on product information gathered  
Task 2 : Student has to make a list of all order numbers that were generated as a result of the first transactions made in the following format:

  • Your NAME
  • NAME (of the person placing the order)
  • PHONE NUMBER (of the person placing the order)
  • ORDER ID (generated once order is placed in the following format "GR1234567")

Note: Students need to send their progress till 9th Oct 2015 (order list) in the above mentioned format in an excel file and then the complete order list by 19th Oct 2015 by email to: 

For the excel file please follow the naming convention "Your name_emailid_college name" else you entry won't be deemed valid. The strategy is to be shared by 29th Oct 2015

 Rules and Guidelines:

  • The student leader must ensure that transactions are unique i.e. transactions are from different people (Using the same number for multiple transactions will not be appreciated by Grofers & the student would be blacklisted for all future engagements)
  • Be very particular of the format for Order submissions
  • Please go through the attached FAQ document to understand the Grofers App and the ordering process 
  • The competition is only open for the following locations - Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad
