AXA is committed to supporting employability for students and graduates early in their career and to help develop global mindsets to be able to work in an international environment. In this context, AXA has launched The Great Global Adventure, its global Game.
There’s a whole world out there waiting to be explored. Play our Great Global Adventure game and you could find yourself exploring it. Complete the game and you could win a life-changing prize: global travel, volunteering and practical work experience. Ready? Let’s get started!
The players will undergo three stages of selection in order to win the Global Prize.
Stage One will start on 8th February 2016 (12:00 pm GMT) and will be over on 8th May 2016 (0:00 GMT). Unless circumstances outside the reasonable control of AXA make it unavoidable, closing dates will not be changed. During this stage, the player will be required, in particular, to answer a series of general knowledge questions and complete logical reasoning quizzes and visual puzzles. Every player will be asked to complete seven (7) challenges throughout this Stage one.
Every Player will receive ten (10) points for successfully completing each of the first six challenges and forty (40) points for sharing their ideal international trip on their own social media channels. These points will be later added together (maximum score = 100) with the additional judged score they receive for completing challenge 7.
Challenge 7 is a skill based challenge and asks players to complete (in English) a social media status update that describes why they would be the ideal candidate to win the ultimate prize. The text of the status update will be limited to 140 characters and each player will be awarded up to 150 points as follows: up to 50 points for content, up to 50 points for creativity and up to 50 points for fun.
The total score will then be calculated by adding the marked score received for the Challenge 7 to the total score achieved during the game. The maximum score will be 100 + 150 =250.
Only the social media status update completed by the top 3000 scorers (and tied) from the first six (6) challenges will be judged and marked. The scoring for the social media status update will be conducted by two (2) judges, nominated by AXA. Decisions of the judges are final and non-appealable.
At the end of Stage One, players with the top 25 (and tied) scores in each AXA designated region (the “Regional Semi-Finalists”) will be invited to participate in stage two of the selection process.
There is no charge to player to participate in Stage One, but each player is responsible for its own expenses associated with procuring access to an internet-connected computer and internet access charges to connect to the online Game.
Stage Two will start on May 16th, 2016 (0:00 GMT) and will be over on May 27th, 2016 (0:00 GMT). Unless circumstances outside the reasonable control of AXA make it unavoidable, closing dates will not be changed.
Each Regional Semi-Finalist will be invited to participate in an online video interview using an online video interview system (such as LaunchPad) selected by AXA.
The purpose of the pre-recorded video interview is to assess the Regional Semi-Finalist’s” motivation to win the “Global Prize” and their personality traits in the context of the international character of the prize. During the online video interview, each Regional Semi Finalist will be presented with five (5) pre-recorded questions. The judging process of the pre-recorded video may be outsourced to a specialized third party.
Answers will be submitted using the online video interview system. To participate in Stage Two of the selection process, each Regional Semi-Finalist must have access to an internet-connected computer with an attached webcam that is compatible with the online video interview system selected by AXA. There is no charge to the Regional Semi-Finalists to use the online video interview system, but each Regional Semi-Finalist is responsible for its own expenses associated with procuring an internet-connected computer, attached webcam and internet access charges to connect to the online video interview system.
Based upon the performance of each Regional Semi-Finalist and other factors to be determined in the sole discretion of AXA, a panel of two (2) judges, nominated by AXA, in each AXA region will invite a minimum of five (5) Regional Semi-Finalists in each region to a second online video interview. The purpose of the second online video interview in real time is to assess the Regional Semi-Finalist’s motivation to win the Global Prize and their personality traits in the context of the international character of the prize.
In each AXA region, a panel of two (2) judges will select one (1) Regional Prize Winner from among all Regional Semi-Finalists in that region on the basis of their performance during the second online video interview.
Decisions of the judges are final and non-appealable. Each Regional Prize Winner will be entitled to receive one “Regional Technology Prize”, as described below. The Global Prize winner will not receive the “Regional Technology Prize”.
This Stage will start from June 6th, 2016 (0:00 GMT) and will be over on June 28th, 2016 (0:00 GMT). Unless circumstances outside the reasonable control of AXA make it unavoidable, closing dates will not be changed.
The four Regional Prize Winners will be invited to a final online video conference interview with a panel of judges, which panel will include one individual who is not an employee of AXA.
The purpose of this online conference interview video in real time is to assess the Regional Prize Winners’ motivation to win the Global Prize and their personality traits in the context of the international character of the prize. There will be a timed assessment (i.e. writing a tweet) during the interview.
Based upon performance of each “Regional Prize Winner” during the online video interview and other factors to be determined in the sole discretion of AXA, one (1) ultimate winner will be chosen (the “Global Prize Winner”).
Before being awarded any portion of the Global Prize, the Global Prize Winner will be required to sign General and Specific Releases and an AXA Global Adventurer Code of Conduct, in a form prepared by AXA consistent with applicable law. Failure to sign and return to AXA the required General and Specific Releases and AXA Global Adventurer Code of Conduct within twenty (20) days of delivery to the Global Prize Winner will result in forfeiture of all portions of the Global Prize.
