About the Organizer :

Digital Arts and Entertainment is one of the 23 Bachelor programmes you can study at Howest University College, Belgium.

Howest (University College West Flanders) came to be in 1995, through a merger of six prominent institutions of higher education in Flanders. Since then Howest has only grown further, developing a unique and innovative portfolio of study programmes, and we are now one of the leading providers of higher education in the province.

Digital Arts & Entertainment (DAE) is an internationally-focused, English-taught Bachelor’s Degree with specializations in Game Development, Game Graphics Production, Independent Game Production and 3D Production & VFX. It is a 3-year full-time Bachelor programme, amounting to 180 ECTS credits, taught at Howest University College in Flanders, Belgium.


 Problem Statement:

The competition will consist of a Skill based challenge, having five sections : 

  • The first challenge is Discover Digital Arts and Entertainment challenge which basically tests the candidates knowledge on the course at hand
  • The next part of the challenge tests your general skills on art, coding, language and other cognitive skills
  • The 3rd section requires the candidate to share their plans and how they would inculcate the course as part of their career as such
  • This next section is where the candidate gets an opportunity to exhibit his skills where in you are given a chance to share any piece of their original work that the candidate has been a part of 
  • The last basis of shortlisting candidates is based on their profile


The Shortlisted candidates will have a chance to win:

  • A full feature of the winner and their portfolio on the DAE website,, as well as the DAE social media channels
  • A partial tuition fee waiver of 1000€ (approx. INR 70,454) for new applicants from outside the EEA (European Economic Area)
  • New applicants from the EEA will receive a VIP invitation to one of the many industry events at DAE

 Rules and Guidelines:


  • Winners must apply and be accepted to Howest DAE in order to collect the prize
  • Which industry event the candidate will get VIP invitation to will depend on the winner’s line of study and interest, and will be discussed with them individually. Travel expenses are not included
  • In our current curriculum, there are 4 majors to choose from
    • 3D Production and VFX
    • Game Graphics Production
    • Game Development
    • Independent Game Production (currently only available in Dutch - however it will be offered in English as well in the future)

Your choice of major depends on the kind of job and industry you want to pursue.
