About the Organizer :

EIT RawMaterials, an initiative by the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) and funded by the European Commission, is basically the largest and strongest consortium among the raw materials sector worldwide. The vision of EIT is a European Union where raw materials are a major strength. It's mission is to enhance competitiveness, growth and attractiveness of the European raw materials industry sector via radical innovation and guided entrepreneurship.

AMIS (Advanced Materials for Innovation and Sustainability) is a two-year master program (120 ECTS) which involves studies at two different institutions, an internship in a company and and a master thesis in collaboration with a company.

 Problem Statement:

The competition typically consists of 2 basic steps:

   # 1st step: Take the Sqore challenge to complete the "pre-selection" step of the application process. This process consists of 3 sections:

  • AMIS Program Challenge wherein you will be asked 4 questions based on your knowledge regarding the AMIS program which have to be answered within 4 minutes
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking Challenge wherein the candidate is supposed to answer 10 subjective questions on Entrepreneurship and innovation within a time frame of 5 minutes and 51 seconds
  • The third step is typically where the candidate updates his personal information on the application form of the AMIS Programme

   # 2nd step: Complete the full application on the FSA website.

Mobility is an integrated part of the AMIS programme as students will study at any two of the consortium partner universities.
Shortlisted candidates will have a chance to win:
  • A mobility allowance to study Advanced Materials for Innovation and Sustainability at the AMIS International Master Programmes at any of the two of the following partner universities:
    • Aalto University, Finland
    • TU Darmstadt, Germany
    • Grenoble INP, France
    • University of Liège, Belgium
    • University of Bordeaux, France

 Rules and Guidelines:


  • No prize alternatives or cash equivalents are offered
  • Prizes are non-transferable
  • Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their prior study performance and professional projects, letters of recommendation and other relevant documents.


  • Applicants should hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Technology, Engineering, or Science (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science)
  • Proof of English language skills through either IELTS, TOEFL, CAE/CPE or PTE is required, unless you meet the exemption criteria
  • Applicants in their final year of undergraduate education may be admitted on the condition that their bachelor degree will be awarded before they enrol, with respect to the specific deadlines of the partner universities they choose to attend
