About the Organizer :

Do you know how difficult it is to wait outside a restaurant when you are hungry? The stress; the sheer grit and determination it takes to not break down a door. You are standing outside, and someone is hogging away to glory inside. What rule of land allows that – how unfair! Just because they reached before us?

Well, that frustration is something that we remove! We are – a table reservation service that enables diners to get tables at their favourite restaurants, along with discounts, cash-backs and much more. You can check us out at and our app is on is part of Times Internet, and we are based out of Gurgaon, with our operations out of 7 major metros in India.

 Problem Statement:

The Dineout Marketing Challenge is open to students from Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The Challenge is divided into 2 rounds. 

Qualifying Round: Suggest Marketing Strategies for Growth 

  • Put yourself in the shoes of a Dineout Marketing Manager and suggest 3 growth hacks/marketing strategies to make the Dineout app viral within your city city (Age Group 24-45) with a cost/benefit analysis of each [3 slides]
  • Suggest a detailed execution plan for each of these 3 strategies and tell us how do you plan to attain disruptive growth [3 slides]

Top 7 teams will receive an INR 20K budget to implement the suggested strategies and show their mettle in the Grand Finale.

The Grand Finale: Attain crazy growth via smart execution 

  • Imagine yourself as a rockstar Marketing Manager with a single mission - Make the Dineout app a known name and the most used table reservation app in your city. No holds barred, this is the time to prove that you are a hustler and can create mayhem if given an opportunity.


Qualifying Round:

  • Top 7 teams with the best strategies would be allocated a marketing budget of INR 20K each to execute the suggested ideas.

The Grand Finale: 

  • Top 3 teams will win a cash prize of INR 50K, INR 30K, and INR 20K respectively basis performance along with possible Internships/Job Opportunities to join the Dineout Marketing/Strategy/Operations team (CTC 8-15 Lakhs).

Grand Finale: 12th Sep - 27th Sep


Qualifying Round: 

  • The final deliverable will be a 6 slide presentation with 3 growth strategies along with their execution plan. 
  • Feel free to suggest whacky/out of the box ideas which can help achieve the goal.

The Grand Finale:

  • A 5 slide deck exhibiting the awesome growth that you have acheived (please feel free to use photos, videos, screenshots and any other material you may seem appropriate) 

 Rules and Guidelines:

  • Team Guidelines
    One team can have a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. 
  • Submission Guidelines
    The file should be named CityName_TeamMember1FullName_CollegeName and should be emailed to before 7th Sep 11:59 PM.
  • Evaluation Guidelines
    Evaluation will be based on Quality of Strategies and Executional Abilities.
