JEE Advanced Paper Analysis 2021

JEE Advanced 2021 exam was given on Oct 3, 2021. There were two papers for the exam (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Each subject's examination had a three-hour time limit. Below is a discussion of how challenging each subject's exam questions were.

JEE Advanced 2021 Paper 2 Analysis

From 2:30 to 5:30 PM, JEE Advanced 2021 Paper 2 was administered. Based on the responses from the students, the exam analysis for the same has been updated here for your reference.

  • Physics: The majority of students thought the JEE Advanced toughest physics questions would be simple to moderate. The exam consisted of six questions from Mechanics, six from Electrodynamics, three from Modern Physics, and two each from Optics and Heat and Thermodynamics. About 7 questions were found to be simple, 9 to be moderate, and 3 to be challenging.
  • Chemistry: Some students found this section challenging. The subject had been fully covered. Students regarded this section to be moderate to difficult. There were roughly 7 questions from Physical Chemistry, 6 from Inorganic Chemistry, and the remaining 6 from Organic Chemistry. 12 questions fell into the moderate category, 12 questions into the difficult category, and 2 questions fall into the easy category.
  • Mathematics: There were around five questions from Algebra. Additionally, questions from Vectors and Trigonometry were asked along with 7 Calculus questions and 5 questions from Coordinate Geometry.
  • The paper was moderately challenging overall.
  • The hardest section was Physics, which gave the most weight to concepts like Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Gravitation.
  • Long and of moderate difficulty were the questions in Mathematics. In this section, Geometry and Calculus predominated.
  • The one-choice questions were simple and the Chemistry course was relatively easier. This part includes questions on essential subjects such as Organic Chemistry, Aldehydes, p-block Elements, and Atomic Structure.

JEE Advanced 2021 Paper 1 Analysis

The first and second papers of JEE Advanced 2021 were successfully administered on Oct 3, 2021. The JEE Advanced thorough shift-by-shift paper analysis, based on the test taker's initial reactions, is provided below.

  • Mathematics: The majority of the questions in Mathematics were from Geometry and Calculus, which took some time.
  • Chemistry: The majority of the questions in the Chemistry part were from Organic Chemistry, making it the simplest section overall. The questions with only one right response, according to students, were simpler than those with several.
  • Physics: The hardest course to complete in the allotted time was Physics because it was more application-based.

JEE Advanced Paper 1's section-by-section breakdown is tabulated below.

JEE Advanced Paper Analysis 2020

Six questions appeared on Paper 1, and each question had one correct answer valued at three marks. There was a negative marking valued at -1 for every incorrect answer. The value of a correct answer in the MCQ section was four marks. Incorrect answers saw -2 marks deducted from the total.

Paper 2 had 12 questions in each subject with a numerical value. Single integer questions were limited to six, and three marks for each correct answer. A negative marking of -1 mark for incorrect answers. Questions with Numerical values up to 2 decimals were limited to six. Six MCQs with marking values of 4 for correct answers and -2 for incorrect answers were also present.

Many analysts have shared their views on the JEE Advanced exam. They felt that the exam was lengthy and more formidable than usual. Most of the questions were of the Olympiad level. Physics and Mathematics were complicated, and Chemistry was a little easier than the other two. Chemistry questions included Aromatic and Stereoisomerism, Coordination Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

Subject-Wise Paper Analysis of JEE Advanced 2020 Paper 1 and 2

The subject-wise analysis of Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the JEE Advanced exam is detailed below.

Paper 1

  • Physics was moderately difficult. Mathematics was tougher than Chemistry.
  • Among all the subjects, the maximum weightage was from the class 12 syllabus
  • There were no mistakes in any of the question papers.
  • The numerical and conic sections in the test were tricky.
  • Answers to numerical questions were to be given in decimal values.
  • There were hardly any theoretical questions in Chemistry, and calculative questions had more weightage.

Paper 2

  • Candidates found Mathematics tough. JEE Advanced toughest maths questions consist of Matrices and other related questions. These questions were lengthy and required more practice for time management.
  • Physics and Chemistry were easier, but there were more calculative than theory-based questions.
  • Integration questions were more than in previous years.
  • Again, no mistakes or errors were found on the question paper.
  • The total questions on the JEE Advanced paper 2 were the same but the value of marks changed.
  • Paper 2 was a little more difficult than Paper 1.

Physics Analysis for JEE Advanced Exam 2020

Physics was overall moderate in difficulty. The questions on the paper were appearing from the class 12 syllabus more in weightage than from class 11. Take a look at some of the topics.

  • Thermodynamics
  • Electromagnetic induction
  • Modern Physics
  • Optics
  • Center of Mass
  • Sound waves
  • Fluid Mechanics

Mathematics Analysis for JEE Advanced Exam 2020

Mathematics was the most difficult and lengthy of the three. Candidates needed to be on their toes as time was a factor in the Mathematics section. Take a look at the important topics in Mathematics for the JEE Advanced Exam.

  • Parabola
  • Definite Integral
  • Circles
  • Ellipse
  • Application of Derivatives
  • Matrices
  • Hyperbola

Chemistry Analysis for JEE Advanced Exam 2020

Chemistry was much easier than the other subjects and candidates found more questions from Inorganic Chemistry as compared to previous year question papers.

  • Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers
  • Hydrocarbons
  • Haloalkanes and Haloarenes
  • Solutions
  • Equilibrium in Physical and Chemical Processes
  • Hydrogen
  • Thermodynamics

Make sure to skim through all topics and focus on the ones you find difficult. The exam will be highly competitive so make sure you revise thoroughly. JEE Advanced exam centres will meet all the guidelines for restricting the spread of Coronavirus, including the provision of hand sanitisers and temperature scans for candidates. Good luck.
