NEET UG 2022 Qualifying Criteria
The NTA will release the NEET 2022 qualifying cut-off along with the NEET 2022 Result. The Qualifying Criteria are based on percentile and the category the student belongs to. The qualifying criteria for NEET UG 2022 are given below:
Category | Qualifying |
General, General – EWS | 50th Percentile |
SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL | 40th Percentile |
General – PwD | 45th Percentile |
SC/ST/OBC – NCL PwD | 40th Percentile |
Percentile is a positional ranking system in which the ranking would be done per the student’s positional rank. Moreover, the percentile is calculated as per the category. For example, the 50th percentile implies students who score more marks than the remaining 50 per cent of the students in the general category would be deemed qualified. In the same way, the 40th percentile for SC/ST implies students who score more marks than the remaining 60 per cent of the students in that category.
In the way mentioned above, out of the 18 lakh students that appeared for the exam, around 9 lakh students will qualify the exam. However, the number of students qualifying from every category will vary depending on the number of students that attended the exam from that category.
