Admission of students in Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University is on the basis of the merit list and entrance exam for some of its courses. The courses offered by the University are at Bachelors, Masters, PG Diploma, Preparatory and Certificate levels. VMOU gives admission twice in a year, January- February and June-July.

The MBA admission in Vardhman Mahaveer Open University is different from the rest of the postgraduate courses. There is an entrance exam for MBA candidates and they have to pay an extra fee for the entrance exam.
