B.Tech [Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology]:

• In order to get admission in University Institute of Information Technology, Shimla, the candidates should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent, with Physics & Mathematics as a mandatory subject with minimum 50% marks for General and 45% marks for SC/ ST category students or equivalent Grades.

• If the candidates studying in University/ Board/ College or School in a Foreign Country, the Eligibility/ Qualifying examination will be the equivalent to 10+2 recognized by the University or the Association of Indian Universities with minimum 50% marks for General and 45% marks for SC/ ST category students or equivalent Grades.

• The candidate should not be more than 22 Years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission.

B.Tech [Lateral Entry]:

In order to get admission in University Institute of Information Technology, the candidates should have passed Diploma in the relevant field with minimum 50% marks for General and 45% marks for SC/ ST category students from a UGC/AICTE recognized Institution.

Or 

In order to get admission in University Institute of Information Technology, the candidate should have passed B.Sc  with Mathematics as one of the subjects with minimum 45% marks for General and 40% marks for SC/ ST category students & should have passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a mandatory subject.

• The application form for B.Tech [Full Time] and B.Tech [Lateral Entry] is available on the official website of University Institute of Information Technology, Shimla

• The candidate should click 'About' tab and in the drop-down menu list select the 'Admission' tab.

• Now click the 'Click here to Apply Online' menu given in the website.

• The page will redirect to the application form in the Himachal Pradesh University Online application portal.

• Now select the application form of B.Tech [Full Time]/ B.Tech [Lateral Entry] in which candidate has to get admission.

• Now the application form for the relevant course has been opened and it consists of 5 steps in it and they are as follows:

  • Personal Information- The candidate has to fill the personal information exactly as per in the ID proof issued by Government of India.

  • Education & Documents Detail- The candidate has to fill the education detail exactly as per in the Marksheet issued by the Board of Education and has to attach the required documents as follows:

    • 10+2 Marksheet.

    • Transfer Certificate.

    • Conduct Certificate.

    • Migration Certificate.

    • Native Certificate

    • Entrance Examination Score Card.

    • Passport Size Photograph (50KB)

    • Digital Signature (30KB)

  • Application Summary- The candidate has to check finally whether the Written Information & Uploaded Documents are correct.

  • Payment- Now pay the application fees of Rs.1000/- Online using Debit/ Credit Card or Net Banking.

  • Submission- After all the above steps have been completed the candidate has to Submit the Application Form.

• The admission process will be based on marks secured in Common Entrance Examination conducted by the University Institute of Information Technology, Shimla

• A separate merit list is prepared for Himachal Pradesh candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in Himachal Pradesh.

• A separate merit list for All India Category is prepared which is open to all the other category students.
