  • VTU notifies twice in a year that will be during January and August.

  • Admission t NIE Mysore to M.Tech Programme will be through Karnataka PGCET entrance exam which will be conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority(KEA) only.

  • In some disciplines Management Quota seats are also available.

Eligibility Criteria for BE

  • The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or Equivalent examination having Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics one of them as an optional subject.

  • And has secured a minimum of forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the language for taking admission at The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore 2019 to Engineering and Technology Courses.

  • For Lateral Entry 3 year Diploma with a minimum of 50 percent marks in the final examination.

Eligibility Criteria for MCA

  • Candidates who are qualified in Undergraduate examination which is of a minimum of 3 years are eligible to apply for MCA course at The National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru.

  • Candidates must have Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Applications or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects.

  • And aggregate should be a minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects

  • It will be 45% marks in qualifying examinations in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc

 The minimum eligibility criteria for admission at The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore 2019 is that the candidates must complete their graduation in either BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc.

 

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech

  • A candidate with a valid GATE score is eligible for admissions at NIE Mysore 2019.

  • A candidate with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in BE is eligible for full time M.Tech Programme and it will be 45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process
  • The Eligibility criteria for admission to NIE is either through CET(for students of Karnataka) or COMEDK(for Karnataka & non-Karnataka students). Considered as one among the top 5 engineering colleges in Karnataka, the score should be reasonably high to get an admission into the institute.
  • I got an admission to the college through COMEDK entrance exam in 2013 with a rank of 3319.
  • Typically, the cutoff for CSE in NIE ranges from rank 2300(starting) to 4500(ending) with slight variations over the years.

  • The eligibility criteria to get into The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore was CET and COMEDK scores. I took CET exam and the typical cut-off for the mechanical branch was around 5000 rank (CET) in the first round and 10,000 rank in consecutive rounds.

Here is the admission process to get youself enrolled into NIE MYSORE :

The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII Standard or Equivalent examinations held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects :- Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and has secured not less than forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the language for admission to Engineering and Technology Courses.


Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology courses.

3 year Diploma with minimum of 50 percent marks in the final examination for Lateral Entry.
Any other equivalent examination approved by the VTU
Admission to the Institute will be made according to directives of AICTE and Karnataka Government as applicable to each academic year.
