Eligibility Criteria for B.Com:

  • You should have passed Class 12th Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks for general category and 40% marks in case of reserved category.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc:

  • You should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination (Class 12th) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune, in the following subjects English, Four other subjects from among 6 the subjects mentioned below carrying a total of 400 marks; or Three other subjects from among the subjects mentioned below carrying a total of 300 marks and one more subject from among the remaining optional subjects carrying 100 marks as prescribed for the HSC (Class 12th) examination: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Statistics, Geography, Economics, Geology and Psychology.
  • You must have passed the First Year Science Examination of the Year B.Sc. Degree Course of this University or an Examination of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto
  • You must have passed at list the Second Year Examination of the Post S.S.C. (Class 10th), three Year Engineering Diploma course or the 4th Semester of 6th Semester Engineering Diploma Course conducted by approved by recognized by affiliated to the Maharashtra Board of Technical Education or another Body Board recognized as equivalent

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc:

  • You should have either passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination of the University of Mumbai in Science or equivalent degree from any other university recognized as equivalent thereto with one of the corresponding subjects as the major subject.
  • Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] + Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
  • You should have passed the Class 12th examination or equivalent from science stream (having any combination of Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) from any recognized Board securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade and 55% in aggregate for SC/ST category. Where only letter grades are available, a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent percentage of marks is required. In the absence of such a certificate, the decision of the Admissions Committee of the concerned Institution will be final.
  • Age: You should be not more than 20 years of age in case of general and OBC category and 25 years in case of SC/ST/PD categories

Application Process for UG:

  • You should log on to the official website of the University and select the link for “Pre- Admission Online Registration” provided on the upper right corner of the home page.
  • You should then click on “Apply Online” and register yourself by entering your authentic details in the relevant fields and click on “Register”.
  • You will receive a verification code and a link on your mobile through SMS in some time. You must log in with your verification code, enter all the specific particulars on the online application form.
  • You should attach your recent passport size color photograph of dimensions 35mm x 45 mm with minimum 72 to maximum 150 DPI resolution.
  • Registration Fee: You should pay the Registration fee of Rs. 150 through a Demand Draft in favor of “The Finance and Accounts Officer, University of Mumbai” payable at Mumbai.
  • You should then submit the Application online.
  • Once you fill the Application Form successfully and apply, you will have to submit/send the print out of the Application Form along with necessary documents to every course-college separately for which you have applied.

Application Process for M.Sc:

  • You can obtain the Application Form from the University main campus. The entire application procedure is offline.
  • You should fill the form with the required educational and personal details. You should also affix a passport size photograph.
  • Application Fee: You should pay the Application Fee of Rs. 100 in cash from 11 am to 1 pm and 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm on weekdays except for Second and Fourth Saturdays.
  • You should submit the Application Form along with the Application fee in person

Application Fee: You can make the payment of the amount given below, by Demand Draft or using credit card/debit card/net-banking through the online payment gateway. The Demand Draft for required amount should be prepared from any bank and should be drawn in favor of NISER-NEST and payable at Bhubaneswar.

  • Rs. 350 for SC/ST/PD categories and all female candidates
  • Rs. 700 for the male candidates of General/OBC category

Online payment portal: The multi–modal payment portal offers payment by credit card/debit card/net-banking of multiple banks. If you are opting for online payment, you need not send any document to NEST office.

Demand Draft: If you are making payment through DD, you must write your name and application number at the back of the DD before dispatching. The DD should be sent along with a printout of the application summary obtained at the end of the application process. Please do not staple the DD with the summary page. You should send the DD preferably by speed post at the address given below which must reach NEST office.

Admission Process:

You will be selected strictly on merit basis.

The criteria to be taken into consideration for merit list is as follows:

For Mumbai University students:

  • You should have been declared in First Class and above without grace marks with as a single major subject out of 600 (Semester V & VI of B.Sc.).
  • The CGPA will be considered if the marks are equal
  • If you have been declared passed in First Class with grace marks / Second Class with as a single major subject out of 600. (Semester V & VI of B.Sc.).
  • In case there is a tie in the above, aggregate marks without grace marks out of 800 will be considered and marks in theory out of 400 without grace marks will be considered.

For Students from Other Universities:

The marks listed at Bachelor’s level examination will be considered for preparing merit list as per quota available for other University students.
