Application Process for MBA

  • Applicants are required to send the duly application form along with the self-attested copies of all testimonials and a DD of  Rs 1500/- for General/OBC and Rs 1000/- for SC/ST in favour of the Director.

  • Candidate should send their application by speed post /Registered post superscribing

It is mandatory to send the scanned copies (pdf version) of the MBA Application Form along with all the supporting documents including the Demand Draft (DD) to the following e-mail address within the last date.

Documents Required:

Application forms duly filled in must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • Self Attested Photocopies of Marks Sheets and candidates of all the Examination from class 10 standard onward leading to the qualifying degree.

  • Self Attested Photocopy of the CAT/MAT/CMAT rank card with a valid score

  • Self Attested Photocopy proof of date of birth

  • Candidates need to self Attested Photocopy of OBC certificate, issued on or after will only be accepted if applicable.

  • Applicant needs to self Attested Photocopy of SC/ST certificate, issued on or after will only be accepted if applicable. 

  • The student needs self Attested Photocopy of EWS Certificate, issued on or after will only be accepted, if applicable.

  •  Attested Photocopy of the Degree/Provisional pass Certificate should be submitted at the time of Personal Interview or before the date given by the Institute, failing which the admission shall be cancelled.

Admission Process for MBA

  • The admission to the MBA Programme will be based on the throughout the academic performance, performance in CAT/MAT/CMAT, Performance in GD /Written Ability Test and Personal Interview of the candidate.

The Department shall carry a three-step process to admit students into the MBA programme:

  • Screening of applications on the basis of Academic Performance and Performance of the Student in the Entrance Examination.

  • Performance in Group Discussion /Written Ability Test.

  • Performance in Personal Interview.

 

Admission Process for M.Tech

Admission to the Regular (Full-time) M.Tech. Programs are made on the basis of seats allocated by the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech /M.Arch/M.Plan. Admission (CCMT).

  • Candidates must have 10+2 passed or Equivalent from recognized Board.

  • Appearing candidate can also apply for the Examination.

Reservation:

  • 15 per cent of seats are reserved for SC and 7.5 per cent are reserved for ST Candidates.

  • 24 seats are reserved for foreign and other category students for 2006-07.4 (four) seats are reserved for handicapped candidates against Assam open quota within the overall allotment of Assam. 

Eligibility Criteria for MBA

  • The candidate must hold a bachelors degree with at least 50% marks or 5.5 in CPI/CGPA.

  • If the Candidate is belonging from SC/ST 5% and 0.5% relaxation on a 10 point scale may be extended for the University incorporated by an Act of Central or declared to be Deemed, or process an equivalent qualification recognised by Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

  • In the case of Graduation Degree (Pass) the only pass will be considered for percentage calculation and for Graduation Degree percentage in Honours papers will be considered.

  • Regular Full-Time Bachelor Degree in science /Humanities/Technology or Equivalent in an appropriate area, with at least 50% marks or 5.5 in CPI/CGPA.

  • The students appearing at their final year graduation examination may also apply.

The eligibility criteria for getting into NIT silchar was that the student should have at least 75 percent marks in 12th standard and he must have qualified JEE MAINS examination. The typical cut off for my course was around 155 out of 360.
