Application Process - National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

  • The candidates who have qualified in the national level entrance exams like JEE Main, IIT JAM, CAT etc. for the respective courses can apply for admission to the Institute.

  • For B.Tech, B.Arch, Integrated M.Tech, Integrated M.Sc admissions into NIT Rourkela, the aspirants must appear for JEE Main conducted by JoSAA.

  • They must apply for the entrance exam and qualify in the same.

  • For M.Sc, they must apply through IIT JAM.

  • For MBA course, aspirants can also apply directly on the Institute's website for direct admission. The notification for MBA admission will be advertised in leading newspapers.

Application Process for MBA

  • The candidates who are eligible and interested should submit their online application for NIT Rourkela admissions 2019.

  • Candidates should prepare a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of "Director NIT Rourkela payable at Rourkela", towards payment of application fee.

  • Fill up and submit the online application form accordingly.

  • Candidates are required to send the hard copy of the signed application form along with the Demand Draft to the college address.

  • Candidates who will be called for interview are required to submit the signed copy of the application form and a set of Xerox copies of all certificates to the HOD on the reporting day of the interview.

  • Candidates also need to produce original certificates from HSC onwards for verification to the Academic Office at the time of admission.

Registering to Centralized Counselling for M.Tech / M.Plan / M.Arch [CCMT] is crucial to gain admissions into NIT, Rourkela in 2019 with the following procedure:

  • Registration: The first step while filling up the application form is registration. The applicants have to register by entering the required information.

  • Fill up the Application Form: After successful registration, the applicants have to enter personal, academic and bank details.

  • Upload the GATE Score Card: Candidates will have to upload the scanned GATE scorecard. The format of the file must be GIF / PNG / JPG / JPEG / BMP.

  • Submit the form: Submit the application form.

  • Application Fee Payment: Pay the fees after submission of the application form.

Admission Process - National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

  • All Indian students can apply through the official website.

  • Candidates qualified in the respective entrance exams can apply for admission.

Admission Process for MBA

  • Candidates who satisfy minimum eligibility criteria will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

  • In case the number of candidates is reasonably high, the department at NIT, Rourkela may set a higher score in the academic career as the minimum qualifying criteria to be called for interview.

  • But the final selection will be based on Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by the Institute

  • For MBA, the admission is through any of the national level entrance tests like CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT etc.

Admission Process for Other Courses.

M.Tech / M.Plan

  • Admissions at NIT, Rourkela for M.Tech / M.Plan will be based on the candidate's score in GATE.

  • Centralized Counselling for M.Tech / M.Plan / M.Arch [CCMT] will notify the maximum and minimum GATE scores for the particular branches and Institutions.

  • The candidates have to choose the Institution and branch with respect to their GATE scores.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 level to be eligible to apply for B.Tech course in National Institute of Technology, Rourkela admissions 2019.

  • They should qualify for the JEE Main entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA

  • The minimum eligibility for the candidate who wants to take admissions for MBA at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is B.Tech / BE or B.Arch (with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII)

  • Or, a four-year degree programme leading to B.Sc Engineering with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme.

  • The candidates who have the four year degree programme leading to B.Sc or M.Sc degree or MA in Economics with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG programme with an aggregate of 65% or a CPI of 6.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognised Institute / University, IITs, NITs, and IIITs are also eligible.

The candidate should clear relevant Undergraduate course with qualifying marks to be eligible for National Institute of Technology.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc

The applicant should pass B.Sc course with proposed relevant subjects to be eligible for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Other Courses.

B.Arch

  • The candidates should have a valid score in JEE Main Paper II to take a seat in NIT Rourkela.

  • They should have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) examination.

M.Tech / M.Plan

  • Applicants must have passed in BE / B.Tech / M.Sc in the relevant subject from a recognized University.

  • They must have a valid score in GATE.

  • The M.Tech / M.Plan admission is through Centralised Counselling for M.Tech / M.Plan / M.Arch (CCMT).

Integrated M.Sc

  • The candidate should pass 10+2 level with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects for admission to National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

  • They should clear the JEE Main entrance exam.

Integrated M.Tech

  • Applicant should pass 10+2 level in Science stream to get admission in NIT Rourkela

  • They must be qualified in the JEE Main entrance exam.

  • They should secure minimum passing marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry at Graduation level.
