Manipal Academy of Higher Education has various professional institutions in health sciences, engineering, management, communication and humanities to cater to the educational needs of the society. Nestled on a plateau in Udupi district of Karnataka, the University town houses over 28,000 students from 57 different nations. Off-campuses of MAHE are in Mangalore and Bangalore, and the off-shore campuses are in Dubai, UAE and Melaka, Malaysia. 

MAHE also provides scholarship to all the students whose family income is less than 5 Lakh per annum. Manipal University fee structure changes every year and varies with different courses. It also has security for 24x7 to cover the whole 200 acre campus. The University also has 140 international collaborations around the world.

Manipal Entrance Test also known as MU OET is conducted for Manipal University admission. For the courses that do not require MU OET scores, other entrance exam scores are accepted. 

  • These exams have to be of state or national level like NEET UG for MBBS course.
  • NEET PG is accepted for MD and MS courses, NEET MDS for MDS and NEET SS for DM and M.Ch programmes.
  • For some courses like B.Com, B.Sc Animation, BA Culinary Arts, BHM etc, the Department Test (DT) is conducted.
  • M.Sc, MOT, M.Optom, M.Com and other masters courses also require DT to be cleared.

Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Doctorate and Certificate courses are offered at Manipal University admission 2020. Some of the courses require Manipal Entrance Test to be cleared in order to gain admission. Admissions are open is B.Tech, B.Optom, B.Sc, B.Des, BBA, M.Sc, MPT, MPH, MA, M.Pharm and many other courses. Manipal University Application Form

  • The Online Application process is done through the official website of Manipal University, Manipal.
  • Open the official University Website.
  • Click on "Apply Now".
  • On the Registration page, enter all the details for registration and click "SUBMIT AND CONTINUE".
  • Username and Password will be created and sent to the registered Email ID.
  • After registration, the applicants can move on to the 3-Step Application Process.
    1. Step 1: Basic Information - The applicants must fill in the Personal details, Course applied for etc.
    2. Step 2: Educational Qualification - The applicants must upload Photo and signature in this step. (Scanned copies of the candidate's passport size photo and signature must be kept ready)
    3. Step 3: Programs and Payment - The applicants can make online payment of the Application fee and fill in their complete address.

Manipal University Admission Fees

Admission fees for different courses is different depending on the duration of the course, discipline etc.

  • Manipal fee structure for B.Tech (regular course) ranges from INR 13,00,000 to INR 15,40,000 for the full course with one-time caution deposit of INR 10,000.
  • INR 2,70,000 to INR 3,90,000 for different branches of ME and INR 3,60,000 to INR 3,90,000 for different branches of M.Tech is the total course fee.
  • INR 7,70,000 for two years is the Manipal University fee structure for the MBA course.

MUOET - Manipal University Online Entrance Test

Manipal University conducts Manipal Entrance Test [MET] for admission into certain courses. B.Tech, B.Tech Lateral Entry, MPT, M.Sc Audiology, M.Sc Speech Language Pathology, MCA, M.Tech, ME, BBA, BA Media & Communication, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, M.Pharm, Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate, M.Sc Nursing Programs need MU OET to be cleared for admission.

MET Slot Booking

The process of booking slots for the entrance test is as given below:

  1. Since MET is an online test, the slots must be booked beforehand in the centre of the student’s choice.
  2. The student must log in to the online test booking system (OTBS) as per the booking schedule.
  3. Log in must be done using the OTBS user ID which is the Application Number and the OTBS password which will be mailed in advance to the student.
  4. A slot once booked cannot be changed.
  5. OTBS will be available only after completion of the application form and it will be activated after the last date for form submission.

MU OET Hall Ticket Download

The MU OET Hall Ticket will be made available to the student upon registration. The hall ticket must be brought to the test centre.

  1. After booking the slot OTBS will generate a hall ticket for the student who has registered.
  2. A copy of the e-Hall ticket will be mailed to the registered Email ID.
  3. 1 copy of the e-Hall ticket must be brought to the test centre on the day of the test.
  4. The applicants must reach the test centre at least 2 hours before the test for the registration process.
  5. The candidate will not be allowed to attempt the test without the e-Hall ticket.
  6. The hard copy of the e-Hall ticket must be produced at the time of counselling and admission.

MET Guidelines

Here are some of the guidelines for booking the slots for the Manipal Entrance Test.

  1. There will be no rescheduling after booking the slots.
  2. Those who miss the test after booking the slot will be considered absent.
  3. Such students can book for the next attempt by paying INR 1400 through OTBS.
  4. Test slot booking is subject to the availability of slots. In case slots are not available in a particular centre, an alternate centre may be chosen.
  5. If a test date or centre gets cancelled, MAHE will inform the students about it in advance.
  6. The entrance test fee will not be refunded in any situation.

MU OET Marking Scheme & Instructions

The language to be used in MET is English. It is an MCQ type test. Here are the rules for evaluation.

  1. The right answer or the answer closest to the right answer must be chosen.
  2. Every correct answer gets +4 marks, every wrong answer gets -1, while every unattempted question gets 0.
  3. The test score will be displayed immediately on the screen upon completion.
  4. Rough sheets given at the time of the test must be returned upon completion.
  5. Best of the scores will be considered for merit list in case of multiple attempts.

MET Syllabus

For the Manipal Entrance Test, there is a different syllabus for different subjects. For example, for M.Sc Nursing the syllabus consists of Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Nursing Foundations, Psychology etc. For BA Media & Communication, the syllabus is Numeracy, Conceptual, General English, General Awareness and Case Study.

Manipal University Admission Process

For Indian Nationals:

  • Admissions in Manipal University, Manipal to Medicine & Engineering courses are done through an online test followed by counseling
  • The student completes the admission process after counseling.
  • For the remaining courses, admissions are either through the Online entrance test or are based on qualifying examination marks.

For Foreign Nationals:
