General Requirements for Undergraduate & Postgraduate Application Process

  • Application forms for admission to all the UG/PG courses are available both Online and Offline and the other states candidates can apply for BE/ B.Tech course online through TNEA Website.

  • The candidates can apply online with the registered Username and Password and then fill the application form with the required details for Madras Institute of Technology admission 2019.

  • Then the necessary documents should be attached and the application form should be submitted.

  • The application is available offline at the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai Campus candidate can pay the application fees and collect the form along with the prospectus.

Admission Process for M.Tech

The Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai admissions 2019 will be based on Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) and also based on marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination and physical fitness.

Admission Process for Other Courses.

BE/ B.Tech/ ME:

  • The admission process for Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai for BE/ B.Tech is TANCA Counseling based on the rank obtained in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) conducted by Anna University.

M.Sc [Applied Mathematics]/ M.Phil [Mathematics]:

  • The admission process will be merit based on marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Phil

  • The candidate should have passed a Masters Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized College /University for Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai admission 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc

  • The candidates should have passed in B.Sc degree with minimum 50% marks from a recognized College/University for Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai admissions 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for Other Courses.

B.E/ B.Tech:

  • The candidate seeking admission in BE/ B.Tech should have passed (10+2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with minimum 50% marks for general and 45% marks for OBC and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates for Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai admission 2019.

  • A candidate seeking admissions to the part-time mode of study shall have his/her permanent place of work within a distance of 90km from the study campus of the institution.

  • The candidate who applies should be of age lesser than 21 years on first of July of the year of application. For candidates from SC/ST, the age limit is relaxable by three years.

  • The candidate seeking admission from any State other than Tamil Nadu State should produce the Native Certificate at the time of admission.

M.E/ M.Tech:

  • The candidate must have finished a Bachelor's Degree in BE/ B.Tech from a relevant course with minimum 50% marks from a recognized College/University for admission to Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai.

  • Eligibility conditions for admission such as class obtained, number of attempts in the qualifying examination and physical fitness will be as prescribed by the syndicate of the University from time to time.
  • A candidate seeking admissions to the part-time mode of study shall have his/her permanent place of work within a distance of 90 km from the study campus of the institution.

The criteria for admission for my course is to pass the +2 examination. The engineering cutoffs are considered for counseling. Based on the cut off marks the rank list is released. According to communities, the cut off marks will vary for different courses.

Admission procedure is like you can apply through the counseling. If you have scored good, Then cutoff marks are 97% and if you have scored more than that then definitely get MIT campus.

For M.Tech we should clear TANCET/GATE exam. I had taken TANCET exam to enter MIT. I scored 30 marks in TANCET.

Admission Process of Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai are given below,

Eligibility:

Candidates for admission into the first semester of the 8 semester B.E/B.Tech. degree programme should have passed:

1.The Higher Secondary Examination of ( 12th) Curriculum (Academic Stream ) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as three or four subjects of the study prescribed under part III or any other examination of any university or authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto.

2.The eligibility criteria such as marks, number of attempts and Physical fitness shall be as prescribed by the syndicate of the Anna University from time to time.

3. The candidate shall have not completed 21 years of age as on first of July of the year of application . For candidates belonging to SC/ST the age limit is relaxable by three years.

4.any other Examination of any other authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto.
