Kuvempu University was established in the year 1987, which is affiliated to the University of Karnataka. It was named after the great Kannada writer, Kuvempu. The education university has spread across four districts of Shimoga, Chitradurga, Chikmagalur, and Davangere. They also have a Post Graduate centre at Davangere and Kadur, and it also offers conventional and non-conventional courses. The university, established in 1987, has its headquarters at Jnana Sahyadri campus. Kuvempu University admission offers under-graduate, post-graduate, and Ph.D programmes in a wide range of disciplines. It has 35 Postgraduate departments in the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, Education, and Science and Technology. It has four departments of Studies – two departments in the Faculty of Science and Technology, and one each in the Faculties of Arts and Commerce. There are 93 colleges affiliated to the university which include both government (30) and private institutions (60) spread over two districts offering under-graduate and post-graduate programmes. In addition to it, the Directorate of Distance Education, Kuvempu University also offers under-graduate, post-graduate, and P.G diploma courses in various disciplines. Kuvempu University admission also comprises of M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs each with 11 and 4 specializations respectively. Admission to M.Phil. and the Ph.D. course is given through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the university.

As per the norms of Bharathiar University minimum eligibility criteria for admission to M.Phil. and the Ph.D. program, candidates must have passed Master’s Degree program in any discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ ST candidates) in concerned discipline from a recognized university.

Registration is done both online and offline for Kuvempu University admissions 2024. For online registration, visit the official website of Kuvempu University. Alternatively, manual registration can be done at the Admission Cell, Kuvempu University. The application process is carried out in online and offline modes. The candidates have to follow the below-listed steps to apply for KU:

• Candidates can download the application forms from the official university website.
• Completed application forms should be submitted along with the application fee of INR 250 through demand draft drawn in favor of Finance Officer, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, and payable at SBM/SBI Shankaraghatta.
• Candidates from SC/ST categories should pay INR 150 as application fee.
• Candidates seeking admission can also obtain application forms and prospectus through post by sending a request letter along with the demand draft of INR 250 (INR 150 for SC/ ST categories) drawn in favor of Finance Officer, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, and payable at SBM/ SBI Shankaraghatta.
• Candidates requesting for applications by post must also attach a self-addressed envelope with a postal stamp of INR 10.
• The request letter must be sent to the following address:

• The application form should be filled in giving all the required information correctly and clearly. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• International students who would like to apply for the courses are advised to contact the Director of International Students Cell.
• The list of candidates, Selection List and Waiting List will be announced on the Notice Board.
• It will also be put up on the university website.
• Candidates must report at the office of the Department concerned before 10.30 a.m
• They will have to wait in the room until the completion of the admission process.
• No separate intimation will be sent to the applicants.
• It is the responsibility of the applicant to check the website regularly for updates. 
• The minimum admission for any course is five.
• If the admission is less than five students, the course will not be conducted and the admission will be canceled.
• Admissions for MCA and MBA courses are made through PGCET conducted by KEA, Bengaluru.
• Candidates should personally appear for the admission.
• Candidates should have all original documents and certificates for verification.
• In case of successful admission, the certificates will not be returned back to the candidate.
