Eligibility Criteria

MBA/PGDM Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants seeking admission should possess any of the following degrees: B.Tech. (D.Tech.)/ B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.F.Sc./ B.Sc.(Agri.)/ B.Sc.(Ag. Maco.)/ B.Sc. (Hort.)/ B.Sc. (Rural Home Science)/ B.Tech.(Food Engineering)/ B.Sc.(Food Technology)/ B.Tech.(Agri. Engg.)/ B.Sc. (Sericulture) or should have studied a 4 year degree programme with a minimum of 6.00/10.00 or equivalent percentage to be considered for admission.
  • If applicants seeking admission have studied a 3 years undergraduate degree programme with science background/ B.B.M. / B.B.A, then also they can apply
  • Further if applicants seeking admission possess a postgraduate degree in any discipline, they are also eligible for admission.

Application Process

MBA/PGDM Application Process

  • Applicants seeking admission should download the Application form from the website.
  • Applicants seeking admission are required to fill in the application form with the necessary details.
  • For paying the Application fee, attach a Demand Draft for Rs.1000/- for General category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST/Cat-1 drawn in favour of The Assistant Comptroller, Dairy Science College, KVAFSU, Hebbal, Bengaluru.
  • The filled in applications duly complete in all respects along with requisite application fee in the form of Demand Draft should reach the “Registrar, KVAFSU, Nandinagar, PB No.6, Bidar-585401, Karnataka” on or before the last date for submission.

Admission Process

MBA/PGDM Admission Process

Selection applicants seeking admission will be based on the written test score and performance in-group discussion/personal interview conducted by university.

Written test:

  • It will be based on ranking which shall be determined by the aggregate Marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the KVAFSU for admission of eligible candidates.
  • Applicants seeking admission shall have to appear for a written Management Aptitude test of 50 marks conducted by the KVAFSU
  • It will test your management aptitude and will contain 50 objective type questions
  • Each question will carry 1.0 mark and the examination will be of 2 hours duration

Other selection criteria will include:

  • Qualifying degree (20 % of marks obtained in aggregate)
  • Group discussion (15 Marks)
  • Interview (10 Marks) and
  • Work Experience (5 Marks)

Applicants seeking admission should obtain a minimum of 50% of total marks in case of general category and 35% of total marks in case of SC/ST/Cat-1.


Reservation Criteria

  • The seats shall be reserved in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Govt. of Karnataka. However, no fee concession is given to any of the categories, since this is a self-financed degree programme.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

MVSc & ME/M.Tech Admission Criteria

  • Applicants seeking admission should possess a Bachelor degree in the respective subject from a recognized University / institute on or before the due date mentioned.
  • Applicants seeking admission should have 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates at bachelor degree level.
  • Nationality: Applicants seeking admission should be a citizen of India and must have studied in any educational institution in Karnataka State for a period of seven academic years at any time up to the Bachelor degree as on 1st July of the admission year. [Not applicable if you are a Govt. of Karnataka, Govt. of India, ICAR nominees, NRIs and Foreign Nationals (FN)]. However, if vacancies are left in a particular subject then the domicile requirement of 7 years could be relaxed to outside state applicants seeking admission .

MVSc & ME/M.Tech Application Process

  • Applicants seeking admission can download the Application Form along with the prospectus from the University website.
  • Applicants seeking admission should fill in the form with the necessary details. Application Fee of Rs. 600 for general category applicants and Rs. 300 for SC/ST/Cat -1 applicants in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Comptroller, KVAFSU, Bidar has to be paid along with the application.

Selection Process for Admission

MVSc & ME/M.Tech Admissions
  • Selection of applicants seeking admission will be done on the basis of their performance in bachelor degree programme and written test conducted by the University.
  • Written Test: It will be of undergraduate level and will contain 100 objective type questions with four responses. Applicants seeking admission will be given due weightage if they have won medals in academics, sports and cultural activities, passed in ICAR/JRF examinations and if are Physically handicapped / Anglo-Indians / Scouts & Guides / Children of Ex-Servicemen / Defence personnel.
  • The scheme of evaluation is as follows. Applicants seeking admission should be able to secure at least 50% of the total marks:

Reservation Criteria for Admissions

  • The seats shall be reserved in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Govt. of Karnataka.
  • Provision is also made for admission on payment of institutional economic fees for Foreign National/ Children of NRI.
  • One seat in each department for Master’s degree notified above is reserved for candidates sponsored by GOK, GOI, State Veterinary / Agricultural Universities.

Eligibility Criteria For Master of Science [MS] (Wildlife Studies):

  • KVASU offers two years full-time M.S. Programme  in Wildlife Studies with an intake capacity of 10 students. The admission to M.S. programme is through an entrance examination and interview conducted by the University. It is offered by one of the constituent colleges of University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad.
  • The applicants seeking admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biosciences (Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Forestry etc).The applicants awaiting their under graduation results are also eligible to apply for this MS program. The applicants seeking admission should produce an attested copy of their final year mark list.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biostatistics):

The applicants seeking admission must have to have a B.Sc. Degree in Statistics and Mathematics as a subsidiary subject. If such applicants seeking admission are awaiting their result, they are also eligible to apply for MS program. It is mandatory for the applicants to produce an attested copy of their final year mark sheet. 


Diploma in Dairy Technology:

The applicants seeking admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree in either Dairy Science, Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Microbiology, Nutrition and Dietetics or Microbiology. In case, the applicants are awaiting their result, they will also be very much eligible to apply for the M.Sc. program. The applicants must have to produce an attested copy of their final year mark sheet. 


Master of Science [M.Sc] (Molecular Biology & Biochemistry): 

The applicants seeking admission must have a Bachelor's degree either in Biochemistry or Biotechnology. In case, the applicants are awaiting their result, they will also be very much eligible to apply for M.Sc. programme. The applicant seeking admission should produce an attested copy of the final year mark sheet.


Master of Science [M.Sc] (Applied Microbiology):

The applicants seeking admission should have a Bachelor’s degree either in Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology, Veterinary Science or Agriculture. The applicants awaiting their result will also be eligible to apply for M.Sc. program. The applicants seeking admission must produce an attested copy of the final year mark list.


Master of Science [M.Sc] (Animal Biotechnology):

The applicants seeking admission must have a B.Sc. or B.Tech degree in Biotechnology or B.Tech in Dairy Sciences or B.Sc. in Life Sciences.The applicants awaiting their result will also be eligible to apply for M.Sc. program. The applicants seeking admission should produce an attested copy of the final year mark list.


Master of Science [M.Sc] (Animal Science):

The applicants seeking admission must have a B.V.Sc. Degree or B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture and other Life Sciences or B.Sc. degree in Forestry. The applicants awaiting their result can also apply for the M.Sc. program. The applicants seeking admission should mandatorily produce an attested copy of the final year mark sheet. 


Diploma in Poultry Production:

The applicants seeking admission should have passed in Plus Two or 12th grade or VHSE with Biology as one subject or VHSE specialized in Livestock Management. The applicants awaiting their results (undergraduation course or plus two) can also apply for the diploma course. The applicants seeking admission should produce an attested copy of the final year mark sheet.


Application Process for M.Sc , M.Sc (Agriculture) & Diploma in Science:

The applicants seeking admission should submit the application forms through online platform only to apply for this program. There are three steps involved in order to apply for M.S or M.Sc. and Diploma programs.

  • Step 1: Application Form must be filled-in completely and carefully by the applicants seeking admisssion for this program.
  • Step 2: Further, the applicant will have to make the payment accordingly and in the manner prescribed by the university.
  • Step 3: The final step is to submit the filled-in application form.

Application Fee:

FOR GENERAL CANDIDATES INR 520/-
FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES INR 270/-

Step 1: Fill Application Form

The applicants seeking admission should fill-in the online application form available on the official website of KVASU by uploading his/her passport size color photograph (150WX200H pixels) and it should be duly signed by the applicant (250WX90H pixels). The size of photograph and signature must not exceed 30 KB. 


Step 2: Make Payment

After the applicant fills-in the application form, they should make sure that application fee is duly remitted in any of the following methods as given below:

  • Making payment at Federal bank branches through challan:-

When the application is submitted, a challan in triplicate (along with student copy, bank copy and University copy) will be automatically generated. The applicant seeking admission should take a printout of the challan and remit Rs.520/-(270/- for SC/ST candidates) as the application fee and bank processing charges using the challan at the nearest Federal Bank counter branch.

  • Through credit card/debit card/Internet banking:-

The applicant seeking admission should remit the fee at the time of submission of the application form through online payment mode using his or her credit card, debit card or Internet banking. The applicants should remit Rs.520/-/-(270/- for SC/ST candidates) as the application fee and bank processing charges.


Step 3: Submit Application Form

After remitting application fee, the applicants seeking admission should take the print out of the online application submitted and send the same after affixing signature of the applicant in the space provided in the application form and send the same with the following enclosures to :

Documents to be enclosed by the applicant seeking admission along with the application form:

  • University copy of the challan, if the payment of the application fee is made by the challan.
  • The applicants should attest a copy of his/her SSLC or Class X certificate.
  • Attested copy of the applicant's final mark list of qualifying examination should be submitted by the applicants.

Selection Procedure For Master of Science [MS] (Wildlife Studies) , M.Sc & M.Sc (Agriculture):

Selection of the applicants will be done by the university, on the basis of the marks obtained by that applicant in the qualifying exam and his/her score in the entrance examination conducted. The applicants seeking admission will be considered and given preference, only if they secure a minimum of 40% marks in the entrance examination that is conducted by the BOARD. The minimum cut-off for SC/ST candidates is 30% aggregate marks. 

About Entrance Test and Interview:

There will be a separate entrance examination and interview for each of the applicants seeking admission. Entrance examination will be for one hour duration consisting of multiple choice questions with or without negative marking (depends on the university and the Board). The entrance exam will be held at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy (Thrissur) and Interview will be conducted at CVAS, Mannuthy (Thrissur) and the list of selected applicants seeking admission will be published. The originals of all certificates and documents should be produced by the applicants at the time of the interview and at the time of admission.

 


Diploma in Science & UG Diploma in Agriculture:

Selection process shall be done by the university on the basis of the marks obtained in qualifying exam and score obtained by such applicants seeking admission, in the entrance exam. Applicants seeking admission will be considered for admission and will be given preference only if they secure a minimum of 40% aggregrate marks in the entrance examination that is conducted. The minimum is 30% aggregrate marks for SC/ST candidates.

About Entrance Test and Interview:

Reservation Of Seats:

Reservation of seats shall be governed by the rules of the Kerala State Government. 25% of the seats shall be reserved for those eligible candidates sponsored by the ICAR based on All India Entrance Examination to be conducted by them.

Fee will be exempted for those applicants belonging to SC/ST and communal reservation of seats are restricted to the applicants belonging to SC/ST and other eligible communities of Kerala origin as per the rules in force.


Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, [KVAFSU] Bidar

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 with the subjects comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics.

Eligibility Criteria for B.V.Sc

  • The minimum eligibility for admission to BVSc is 50% aggregate marks in (10+2), Pre-University Course or its equivalent.
  • Applicant must have opted the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.
