Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College is actually a dream come true for several, especially for those that are residing within the old town of Vijayawada. The long-cherished dream has been realized through the benevolence of Danaseela, Purapramukha, and Vidya-Poshaka Sri Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana Shresti. the inspiration stone of the school was laid on 6th November 1964 by Sri Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. the school was constructed on 4.11 acres of land of the S.K.P.V.V. Hindu High Schools’ Committee. It commenced functioning fully ever since July 1965. the school had a humble beginning with 278 students and a faithful staff of just nineteen under the visionary leadership of the Founder Principal Sri S. Sundaram. the school had taken huge strides in its growth and have become one of the premier institutions in Vijayawada, sparing no efforts for the last fifty-two years in fulfilling its vision and mission.

  • The minimum eligibility criteria for prospective candidates applying for BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBM, BCA, and BBA courses is to possess passed 10+2 in Arts/ Science/ Commerce with aggregate 45% marks.
  • Candidates applying from outside Andhra Pradesh require English as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level.
  • For M.Sc, M.Com, and MA programs, candidates must have a B.Sc, M.com, and BA degree respectively within the relevant specialization and under-recognized university.

KBN initially only offered courses in arts and science affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University for the UG program and then after receiving a NAAC ‘A’ grade the college initiated proposals of being autonomous and since then is running as an autonomous college for UG courses and affiliated to Krishna University for PG programs. Hence the college admission process is done based on the candidate's 12th marks and the selection of these candidates is done via group discussion or personal interview conducted by the college administration. Aspiring candidates must have passed 12th HSC with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the science or commerce field depending on the course selected including the mandatory subjects notified for selection in that particular course. The following gives a brief outline of the admission procedure for the UG program at KNB college in Vijayawada.

  • Candidates are notified of the admission form for the selected course online on the official website of the KBN college. 
  • Candidates should download the form and fill the form attaching the requisite photocopy of documents.
  • Admission forms shall be submitted offline.

Seat Availability

The urgent requirement of higher education in the region compelled the philanthropic elite business community of this old town in Vijayawada to set up this college. The college commenced in the year 1965 with 278 students and 19 devoted staff under the leadership of the Founder of KBN principal Sri Sundaram. Now the college offers UG and PG programs with enormous intake facilitating students in a campus of 4.1 acres of land of the SKPVV Hindu High school committee. The intake for UG changes every year with the requirement of higher education in fields offered by the college. An average intake of 120 is considered for the UG program. For PG programs only the MCA program has an intake of 60 students. The seat reservation policy is followed and admission to the reserved category is based on the college reservation policy. 70% of seats are reserved for candidates under category and 30% of total intake is provided for candidates under the general category or open category. Admission via management quota falls under the general category of students.

Selection Criteria

Selection for the admission to UG program is based on the candidate's marks in their 12th marks. A minimum of 45% marks needs to be obtained by candidates to be eligible for admission to KBN UG degree courses. Selection of those candidates who have secured higher marks will be preferred first, and a group discussion or personal interview will be conducted for suitable candidates. For such candidates, entrance exam marks will be an added advantage over other candidates.

The Following gives a step-by-step process for admission to the PG programs offered at KBN College, Vijayawada.

  • KBN College offers MBA, MCA, M.Com, M.Sc, and PG Diploma in E-banking at the PG level for the duration of two years. M.Sc is obtainable in 2 disciplines.
  • The basic eligibility to MBA and MCA is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, most preferably BBA and BCA respectively. For M.Com, candidates must have a B.Com degree. For M.Sc, candidates must have a B.Sc degree within the relevant discipline.
  • Admission to M.Com & M.Sc is based on the performance in KRUCET conducted by Krishna University, followed by counseling.
  • MBA, MCA & PG Diploma admissions are done on the idea of merit within the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates who are admitted via the counseling of KRUCET are eligible for fee concession as per the rules established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • For all masters programs offered at KBN college, 70% of the seat is filled via the counseling conducted by Krishna University, remaining 30% of the seat is filled via management quota, although management quota is applicable the candidate's seat need to be approved by the KU hence KRUCET is mandatory for all applicants.
  • Candidates must fill an online application form at the official website of KU.
  • After successful payment of the application fee, candidates are then eligible for counseling rounds
  • The fee for the first counseling round of the Science department courses is Rs.1000 per applicant, Rs1300 for the second counseling round, and Rs.1500 for the third counseling round.
  • Fees for Arts, Commerce, and other courses are Rs500 and Rs800 for the first and second round respectively and Rs.1000 for counseling in the third round.

Entrance Exam

Since the Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College is affiliated to Krishna University for PG programs offered in the college, All admission conducted for the PG program is via a centralized admission process conducted by Krishna University which requires the KRUCET entrance exam. Admission to MBA and MCA there is no Entrance exam conducted by college hence common entrance exam for MBA and MCA marks will be considered and admission will be processed using the transcripts of the Bachelor’s degree, most preferably BBA and BCA respectively.

For the MCA program, the college provides an intake of 60 students and for the MBA course, the intake is 120 students. For M.Sc. The intake is as per the Krishna University norms and only 70% of the seats are allotted for admission through counseling rest 30% of the seats are filled via management quota, although admission through management quota requires Krishna University approval, hence the application for counseling is mandatory for all aspiring candidates. Seats are allotted to reserved candidates under reservation policies, if these seats are found vacant then such seats are allotted to candidates via inter-se admission. Out of these seats, 85% seats are allotted for local candidates and candidates from outside Andhra are allotted 15% of the available seats. Failing to accept/report admission under counseling rounds those seats are transferred to the waiting list candidates automatically. Selected candidates must produce two sets of attested photocopies of enlisted certificates to the counseling members for verification, if the documents are not produced the candidates will forfeit their seats. Changing of courses after admission is subject to the availability of seats. The change of course will be allowed only on the basis of KRUCET marks. In case of cancellation of admission after confirming the allotted seat, the refund will be processed as per the university norms.

Reservation

The seat allotment to the M.Sc. and M.A. courses are based on the KRUCET counseling reservation policy. For MBA and MCA, the reservation is based on the state government policies for higher education. Any candidate claiming seats under these reservation policies is required to submit proper documents for verification of the same, incorrect or shortage of documents produced shall result in forfeiting the seats of such candidates. The above-mentioned reservation does not apply for admission under KRUCET counseling and is strictly governed by the college administration committee. On vacancies of seats in the reservation, an inter-se admission is processed to fill in the vacant seats. Admission to various courses under these reservation policies also gets additional concession on fees. Local candidates get higher priority in the reservation policy for admission to the KBN college. 85% of the available seats are reserved in favor of local candidates. Candidates can apply for inter-se admission on the availability of seats, such candidates are given the reserved category concession on fees to which the candidate is admitted. Physically handicapped candidates are required to show the medical certificate validating a permanent disability of not less than 40%. The medical certificate should show the cause and duration of the disability.

Selection Criteria

Selection to MA, MSc. and M.Com will be based on the counseling round conducted by the KU after giving the KRUCET entrance exam. Selection criteria for candidates seeking admission to MBA and MCA courses at KBN shall be done by the college administration committee under the performance in personal interviews and group discussion along with the merits obtained in the bachelor’s degree.

Entrance Exam required for Admissions to KBN College 2024

KRUCET is an acronym for Krishna University's common entrance test, applicable for admission to UG, PG, and Diploma courses offered at Krishna University and affiliated colleges of KU. KBN college is affiliated to KU for PG courses of M.Sc. and M.Com. All aspirants must apply for the KRUCET entrance exam as the admission will be based on the counseling and merit rank of the KRUCET entrance exam. The following gives an overview of the admission procedure to courses via KRUCET counseling.

  • Fill the application form available online at their official website.
  • Pay the application fee online and confirm the candidate's application.
  • Before confirming cross-check on all provided details to be true and accurate.
  • After confirmation of the application candidates will receive further notice on entrance exam dates.
  • Keep track of examination dates.
  • Hall tickets will be provided to candidates which can be downloaded from their application portal accessible by the login credentials of the candidate. A copy of the same will be sent to the registered email id.
  • A clear print without any mutilation should be maintained by the students for the entrance exam. 
  • Candidates cannot enter the examination hall without a proper admit card.
  • Examination centers need to be selected while filling the online application form. Candidates must be present on scheduled dates of the exam at the selected examination center.
  • After the examination, results will be announced online on their official website.
  • Once results are out students must register online for centralized admission.
  • After filling the online admission form, candidates must wait for their ranking merits to be announced.

  • Those candidates whose allotted college is the top choice of the college shall not be allowed for the sliding or appearing for consequent rounds of counseling, such candidates must secure their admission. Cancellation of these seats will result in cancellation of admission all together and candidates then must appear for management quota.
  • Candidates are requested to appear at the counseling center on the scheduled dates with relevant documents for verification and report admission to the college.
  • Failing to report admission will forfeit seats.
  • Unsatisfied candidates with their seat allocation can apply for counseling round 2 by sliding the allotted college. Cancellation of the seat will forfeit seat and the candidate need to apply via management quota. (candidates need to pay counseling phase 2 fees)
  • Only those candidates who opted for sliding will be allowed for counseling phase 2.
  • A seat allocation based on vacancies and merit rankings will be allotted to students at phase2 counseling. 
  • Sliding for third counseling will not guarantee seats to desired colleges. Although students can apply for third counseling rounds where students will be called for group discussion/ personal interview with the concerned college admission authorities. Seats will be allotted based on vacancies only.

  • The application to the entrance exam is through online mode.
  • The application form will be available only at the official website www.krucet2020.in. no offline application is proposed.
  • Candidates need to register separately for each test. At any stage of the application, no change of subject will be entertained.
  • Candidates once registered using the email id and mobile number shall be able to re-login into their application tab using their login credentials.
  • A copy of the Login id and password will be sent to your registered mobile number and Email ID so that students don't forget their login credentials.
  • Uploading passport size photo and signature in jpg/jpeg format with a size less than 100kb. No other size and format of the image shall be permitted to upload.
  • After completely filling the form, students can navigate back and forward to check on the details provided, cross-check on all details to be true. No false details shall be permitted to edit in later stages. If no errors are found click on proceed to pay.
  • Candidates must pay a registration and processing fee of Rs.600 for the general category and Rs.400 for reserved categories.+ Bank charges if any.
  • The payment is online mode only. Once the payment is successful candidates will be notified of their payment to their registered mobile number and email id.
  • Candidates will be redirected to the submitted application form, take a print of the same, and preserve it for future reference.
  • Application form number/ Registration Id is necessary for candidates to get their hall ticket.

Results for the KRUCET are announced on 14th October 2020. The result is declared on the respective website. The same is notified to students on the notice board of the KBN college website. After the results are announced candidates must apply for the counseling round, based on their rankings students can judge the cutoff for the colleges and apply for the choice of colleges accordingly in the counseling round.

Counseling for Admissions at KBN College 2024

Counseling to the KRUCET is done after the declaration of results, students are requested to opt for counseling by filling the choice of colleges and verifying documents in the counseling center by paying the counseling fee. Key Points to remember :

  • Upon successful verification of documents in the counseling center, a security code will be provided to candidates to exercise web options.
  • Using login credentials candidates are to follow the web options for selecting colleges under the priority list.
  • The selected college options will be considered for the counseling round.
  • Candidates admitted through KRUCET are requested to download and take print of the provisional allotment letter while reporting to the college for admission.
  • No change of options will be allowed after submitting the option form. Hence note down the college code and make sure to enter the correct college code in the priority choice list.
  • Candidates who wish to slide can slide their seat allocation and apply for phase 2 counseling.
  • Candidates who opted for sliding need to pay the second phase counseling fee online and fill in the choice of colleges in their priority list.
  • Based on vacancies and merit rankings students will be allotted seats, if a student is still not satisfied with their seat allocation can opt for sliding again.
  • No guarantee of seat allocation to the desired college will be given to candidates opting for counseling rounds, Seats will be allotted based on rankings and vacancies only.
