Ispat Autonomous College was established on 6th September 1978. It is one of the premier undergraduate colleges and is affiliated to Sambalpur University. Started with a modest strength of 430 students at the Intermediate stage, It became a full-fledged degree college in 1980 having all the streams viz. Arts, Science & Commerce. Apart from the pass courses, honors courses in English, History, Political Science, Economics, Hindi, Oriya, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Commerce are available. The Govt. of Orissa has given permission for opening of BBA courses under self-financing and requisite formalities have been completed to start the course from the session 2009-10. Keeping pace with the requirement of the times, UGC has also approved the opening of a skill-oriented course (Retail Management) from the session 2011-12.

Mandatory Documents to be submitted along with the application form

• Attested true copy of School/College Leaving Certificate
• Attested true copy of mark sheet of the last qualifying examination
• Postage stamps worth Rs. 6/- each should be affixed on both the index and Intimation Card (Postage stamp on Index Card is not necessary if the application is submitted by hand)
• Attested true copy of Caste certificate in case of SC/ST candidates
• Money receipt in support of the purchase of the application form
• Attested true copy of the certificate from the C.D.M.O / S.D.M.O / in case of the Orthopaedically Handicapped / Physically Handicapped candidates
• Attested true copy copies of N.C.C. A or B Certificate for the claim on N.C.C. quota
• A candidate who has represented his/her school/ college at President Scouts and Guides should submit an attested true copy of the necessary certificate by the Honourable President of India, or a letter from the Headmaster/Headmistress of the School concerned and an undertaking to the effect that he/she will produce the original Certificate immediately after receipt of the same from Delhi Authorities. A candidate in receipt of a Rajya Puraskar should also submit a copy of each certificate
• A candidate representing the country / All India Team/ All India University Team/ Orissa State Team approved by the State Level Bodies at the National Competitions in sports should attach the necessary certificate of participation duly issued to him/her from the Director of sports and Youth Services Deptt
• Attested copy of Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institutions last attended / Conduct Certificate from a Gazetted Officer for the period of discontinuity in respect of a candidate who has discontinued his/her studies for more than one year

• Marksheet of HSC/ HS/ Equivalent examination in original
• High school certificate in original
• Three copies of recent stamp size color photograph duly attested by a Gazetted officer
• School/ College Leaving certificate in original
• Conduct certificate in original from the Head of the Institution last attended/ Gazetted officer
• Caste Certificate in original (for SC/ ST candidates)
• Certificate in original in support of a claim for reservation/ weightage in different categories
