Indian Institute of Technology Application Form

The procedure to apply for admission to IIT Jodhpur is through the JEE websites. It contains the application form for Mains and Advanced levels of the exam.

  1. Visit the JEE main website or the NTA website.
  2. Click on the 'Fill out the Application Form' button, which redirects to the form.
  3. After filling in the information and uploading the scanned photograph (10-200 kb) and scanned signature (4-30 kb), candidates can pay the fee through Credit/ Debit cards, Netbanking, UPI or PayTM.

Candidates who have scored within the top 2,45,000 ranks in the JEE Main exam can proceed to apply for JEE Advanced.

  • Upload scanned copies of all the requisite documents in the specifications mentioned.
  • The fee is to be paid online.

IIT Admission Fees

Students are supposed to pay a standard fee for each specialization under a course and it varies across courses. The IIT fee structure also varies according to the financial background of the aspirants with concessions for weaker candidates.

  • The total semester fees of B.Tech is INR 1,37,100 for students whose families earn above INR 5 LPA. It is INR 40,100 for students whose family income is less than INR 1 LPA.
  • INR 13,000 is the semester fees for the M.Tech course.
  • The M.Sc tuition fee is INR 6500 per semester.

Entrance Exams Accepted by Indian Institute of Technology

The Joint Entrance Examination [JEE] is the examination for admission to the IITs, NITs and is accepted by many premier institutes of the country for the engineering and technology courses. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency established by the Indian Government. For admission to IITs students need to clear both the Main and Advanced exams.

JEE Main

From 2020 there would be 2 opportunities to write the Main exam before admissions for the next academic session. Students would have the chance to improve their score as the best among two would be considered.

The JEE Main exam would be held only in online mode for B.Tech admission. The paper consists of multiple-choice questions of the following subjects. All the questions bear the same weightage and the answers are a numerical value.

JEE (Advanced)

Those who have passed the JEE (Main) exam have to write the JEE (Advanced) exam. Only two attempts are permitted at it. Students can apply to the JEE (Advanced) exam only if they have obtained at least 75% in their 10+2 or equivalent exam/ are in the top 20 percentile of their board.

JEE (Advanced) consists of two question papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each, both of which are compulsory. The exam is computer-based. The papers consist of multiple-choice questions of the following subjects.

GATE 

Applicants interested in pursuing their Postgraduation in IIT Jodhpur should click on the link in the IIT Jodhpur website which becomes active come admission season. Candidates are shortlisted for the written test and/ or interview on the basis of their GATE scores. They have to bring the final submitted application form duly signed, a copy of a valid GATE scorecard at the time of written examination and/ or interview.

The application fee is Rs. 300 for General and OBC applicants, and Rs. 150 for SC, ST, and PD applicants and can be paid online.

For M.Sc admission candidates must write the JAM exam. Candidates must bring their JAM scorecard, Bachelor's Degree Certificate in addition to other necessary documents such as address and identity proofs.

IIT B.Tech Admission 2019

The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur offers B.tech in 4 specializations with many super-specializations. The programs are all for 4 years and 8 semesters with the final semester being assigned for the final project. The following Super-specialisations are available.

Students would have the option of converting the B.Tech. into 5-year B.tech. + M.Tech. Dual Degree in the 7th semester.

The selection procedure for getting into the IITs is through GATE scores. Students are invited to a written test followed by an interview on the basis of which they are admitted to the IIT M.Tech programs.

  • Can students change their branch after taking admission in any engineering branch under B.Tech?
    - Change of the branch would be possible but only in the order of merit - according to the CGPA scored by the end of the 2nd semester, which should be no less than 8.0 for General Merit applicants and 7.0 for SC/ ST applicants.

  • Is there any other way of getting admission into the IIT Jodhpur besides the JEE exam?
    - No. The only way to get admission into the B.Tech program in IIT Jodhpur is to clear the JEE Main and Advanced exam.
