Eligibility Criteria for MBA

For Candidates from Unreserved Category:

The students who apply must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Honours Graduate Course of Science/Commerce/with or must be a Graduate of Engineering/Law with 55% marks in aggregate for admission to Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata.

For Candidates from Reserved Category:

The students belonging to OBC-A & B who apply will be given 10% relaxation marks and the students belonging to B will be given 25% relaxation marks.

All applicants who apply must have a valid C-MAT score for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Com {Hons.}

  • The students who have passed in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination are eligible to apply online.

  • Candidates from General Category who apply should have secured 75% aggregate marks and 60% marks in the concerned subject.

  • Candidates from OBC-A and OBC-B [West Bengal only Candidates] who apply should have secured 67.5% aggregate marks and 54% marks in the concerned subject.

  • Candidates from SC/ST [West Bengal only Candidates] who apply should have secured 56.25% aggregate marks and 45% marks in the concerned subject for admission to Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Com

  • The students who apply should have passed in the B.Com. [Hons.] qualifying examination from the University of Calcutta.

  • The Eligibility criteria is passed 10 +2 exam.
  • The admission to B.com was solely based on marks in my ISC 12th.
  • The cutoff generally hovers around 88-89 percentage for general candidates. I had 92% so no problems there. The cutoff for SC/ST are kept a lot lower.

The eligibility criteria were to pass ICSE or CBSE, the procedure followed was a simple, the form for the desired course had to be filled online followed by submission of a copy of required scanned documents. There wasn't any entrance exam as such. To be specific the cut off for B.comHonss) was 92.5%.

Here are the details;

Admission Criteria for B.Com (Hons):

Admission procedure for B. Com. (Hons) starts usually in the month of June i.e. after the declaration of the results of HS examination by WBCHSE. A Candidate intending to take B.Com. (Honours) course must fulfil the following criteria:

1. Minimum marks (in H.S. or equivalent 10+2 examination) required for online application.

For General category Candidates: 75.00% in aggregate and 60.00% in the related subject.

For OBC-A and OBC-B West Bengal only Candidates: 67.50% in aggregate and 54.00% in the related subject.

For SC/ST of West Bengal only Candidates: 56.25% in aggregate and 45.00% in the related subject.

2. Passed Higher Secondary or any other equivalent examination in 2014 as regular candidate with at least five subjects of 100 marks each including English and any one of the following related subjects,

viz., Accountancy, Business Economics including Business Mathematics, Business Organisation, Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business Studies, Office Practice and Secretarial, Financial Accounting, Elements of Cost Accountancy and Auditing, Book Keeping, Commerce, Cost Accountancy and Principle of Management.

3. A Candidate shall have the option of applying in one section only (either in Morning or Day section).

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION TO B.Com (Honours):

The selected candidates are required to produce the following documents at the time of admission :

The original mark-sheet of the last qualifying examination.

One attested photocopy of the mark-sheet of the last qualifying examination.

Original document showing the date of birth.

One attested photocopy of date of birth document.

Three copies of a recent passport size photograph.  The caste/tribe certificate in original (only for S.C./S.T. candidates).

One attested photocopy of the caste/tribe certificate (only for S.C./S.T. candidates).

A candidate who has been previously admitted to another college must produce a Transfer Certificate (in original) at the time of admission. The candidate must remain personally present with his/her parent or guardian at the time of admission.
