Cooch Behar College is a reputed educational institute located in Cooch Behar district, West Bengal. It is affiliated to the University of North Bengal and was established on 16th November 1970 at the end of Cooch Behar town with a campus area of 3.74 acres. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, and is affiliated to the University of North Bengal. Located at the fringe of Cooch Behar town, the college is housed in two imposing two-storied buildings and a single-storied building with a sprawling green playground in the middle of the campus. The institute has been accredited by NACC as a B++ Grade institute.

Cooch Behar College Admission 2024

The college has been running Arts and Commerce courses with the subject option of B.A. Honours in Philosophy and B.A. General in History, Political Science, Economics, Bengali and English and B.Com (Honors and General). Subsequently, the college has broadened the scope of mission statement to enhance the capacity of the masses and make them part of national development. The Cooch Behar College Admission 2024 offers undergraduate level degree programs (both General and Honors courses) in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management. The BBA program was introduced in 2006 and additional science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science were introduced in 2008. Cooch Behar College completed its silver jubilee in 1995.

Cooch Behar College UG Admission 

Presently the College offers B.A, B.Sc & B.Com (3 years Program & Honors Courses) with four career-oriented courses, BBA and BBM degree program. Admission to the courses is done based on merit in Class 12th or any equivalent examination. A series of merit lists are released for all the candidates who apply online through the college’s website. Shortlisted candidates are called for the counseling/ certificates verification round according to the merit lists.

Cooch Behar College UG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Criteria

Reserved category candidates with 50% aggregate marks and pass in the concerned subject are eligible to apply for the general courses. Candidates are required to study Bengali as a compulsory subject. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must secure at least 45% aggregate marks and 60% marks in the subject applied for in the last qualifying exam. A candidate shall have maximum three consecutive chances to clear each Part of the Under Graduate Examination but shall have maximum overall seven consecutive chances to clear all Part-I, Part-II and Part-III Examinations taken together. The application fee for Honors subjects is Rs.40+Rs.20 (bank charge). The tuition fee for each course varies INR 3000- INR 7000, highest being the fee for BBM that is INR 25000 per annum.

Students will be admitted through the online system (E-Counselling mode) in this academic session (2024-21). Online application form submission will be from 05 Jun - 13 Jun 2024. The following steps /rules to be followed strictly for applying to any course and for admission. 

Steps for Submission of Online Application & Admission Form

• The candidate seeking admission to Cooch Behar College must apply online only on www.coochbeharcollege.org.in. 
• In the Cooch Behar College website, a candidate seeking admission should click on the “Online Admission 2024” button. 
• Then the candidate should click on the "APPLY ONLINE" button and will get four options (APPLY IN HONOURS/ APPLY IN PROGRAM (GENERAL)/ APPLY IN BBA/ APPLY IN BBM). 
• After clicking those buttons admission page will be opened. 
• The candidate should upload the scanned copy of 50 KB size image and all the necessary documents in JPG format of not more than 200 KB (M.P Admit Card/ Certificate, H.S Mark sheet, Caste Certificate, P.H Certificate, Sports Certificate) for admission. 
• After filling up the form, the candidate will receive a username and password through the registered mobile number. An incomplete form will not be accepted. After successful submission of the form, the candidate will get the payment option" online payment". 
• In online payment, the candidate can pay through debit card, credit card, and net banking. 
• If any candidate fails to pay fees at the time of form fill-up, then they can pay the fees through the username and password in the Re-payment Login option. 
• The candidate who is successfully registered and paid registration fee will only be considered in the selection process. 
• Candidates whose names are in the merit list will go through an automated E-counselling process. 
• Candidates who are selected will be informed through a message sent on their registered mobile number. The names of selected candidates, eligible for admission will also be displayed on the college website phase-wise. 
• After receiving the message and/or after the publication of such a list of selected candidates on the college website, candidates have to pay their provisional admission fees again through the username and password followed by the same online procedure. 

Documents Checklist

At the time of physical verification, the candidate must bring a print copy of application form, bank challan (offline payment) and all relevant documents of online application and original copies of all certificates, mark sheets and testimonials. The following original documents are to be produced at the time of admission:
