    - No, COEP does not take admission of JEE mains qualified candidates. The candidate with MHT-CET for B.Tech and GATE for M.Tech are the basis for entry into COEP.
  • How can I get a seat in COEP?
    - The students aspiring to get a seat in Bachelor of Technology has to clear MHT-CET, while the M.Tech applicant must qualify GATE. Only the PG Diploma course is offered through the interview COEP conducts.

Admission Process of COE, Pune as follow,

  • Admissions to the first year of all the programmes shall be made before the start of each academic year, through the Maharashtra Combined Entrance Test (MHCET) conducted by the Government.

  • a limited number of students of Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Foreign National categories, as per Government rules.

  • There shall also be a merit-based, lateral admission of students having Diploma qualification to the second year of all the programmes at the College in accordance with the Government rules applicable for such admissions.

2.1 Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate :

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together. AND Obtained a positive Composite score* i.e., score obtained after adding 50% of JEE (Main) 2015 (Paper 1) marks percentile and 50% of Standard XII (Board or Equivalent Examination) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics marks percentile. Note: -1)

* - Refer Rule No 2.12 for the details for calculating positive Composite score.

2) Refer Rule No 2.11 regarding Rounding off of percentage of marks for deciding the eligibility, if applicable.

 2.2 Eligibility Criteria for All India Candidates (Maharashtra & OMS):

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate and outside Maharashtra state candidates: 

·         The candidate should be an Indian national and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.

·         The students secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and  Persons  with  Disability  candidates  belonging  to  Maharashtra  State  only)  in the subjects Physics,  Mathematics  and  Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/  Technical  Vocational subject added together. 

·         The candidates from Maharashtra should have obtained  a  positive  Composite  score i.e., marks obtained after adding 50% of JEE  (Main)2014 (Paper  1) marks and 50% of normalized Standard  XII  (Board or Equivalent Examination) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For all India students, they should have obtained All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2014 (Paper 1) given by CBSE.

as you said your AIR is 5300 which is not too bad interms to secure seats in some of well reputed NITs like NIT Jalandhar, Silchar, Patna and many more, so you can try for these NITs hopefully you can get seats in these colleges M.Tech Courses.
