Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri, is also known as BIT Sindri, was established in 1949 as a College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Patna. After one year it shifted to Sindri on 17th November 1950. It is an Engineering college affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Hazaribag. The institute is controlled administratively by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi. All the courses of BIT Sindri are accepted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and most of the Undergraduate courses are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. GATE 2024 exam will be held from Feb 3, 2024 and Feb 11, 2024.

BIT Sindri Application Form 2020
Candidates are requested to apply online through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) official website for B.Tech admission. The application form for M.Tech courses is available on the official website of BIT Sindri.
- Go to the BIT Sindri official website.
- Download the application form for M.Tech admission.
- Fill the application form with relevant details and enter the details of enclosure documents.
- Pay the application fee as Demand Draft.
- Send the application form along with the required documents and Demand Draft in favour of “Director, BIT Sindri” payable at S.B.I, B.I.T, Sindri (IFSC code– SBIN0011812) to the college address by speed post / Registered post.

Note: Self attested photocopy of the certificates should be enclosure.
Mandatory Documents
- Final year/Semester marks sheet & passing Certificate of BE/B. Tech or equivalent. For last semester appearing candidates should attach 7th semester/ 3rd year mark sheet.
- Pass Certificate of 10th and 12th examination.
- Marks Sheets of 10th and 12th.
- Caste Certificate (If applicable) issued by SDO/ DM/ DC from Jharkhand State.
- Valid GATE Score card.
BIT Sindri Admission Fee
Candidates who are selected for the UG and PG courses have to pay the admission fee at the time of admission as per the BIT Sindri fee structure. The fee is included programme fee and student fund.
- For B.Tech courses, candidates have to pay INR 9,700/- (Institution can make changes as per the rules)
- Pay the bill as Bank Draft in favour of f “Director, BIT Sindri” payable at “BIT Sindri / Sindri” from SBI/ BOI/ Canara Bank.
- Pay student fund as Bank Draft of INR 8,330/- in favour of “BIT STUDENT FUND, BIT Sindri” payable at “BIT Sindri /Sindri”
Entrance Exams Accepted by BIT Sindri
For admission at BIT Sindri, candidates should attend for any of the entrance examinations among JCECE/ GATE/ Research Admission Test conducted by the institution based on the courses the candidates is applying at BIT.
- For B.Tech courses, candidates should appear JCECE 2020 conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB).
- For M.Tech courses, candidates should have a valid score in GATE 2020.
- For Ph.D course, candidates should attend Research Admission Test conducted by the institution and personal interview.
BIT Sindri JCECE Syllabus
The JCECE questions will be based on the plus one and plus two CBSE syllabus. The question paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions and 1 mark for each correct answer. The exam syllabus have 4 papers with topics related to Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry.

BIT Sindri JCECE Application Form
The application form for the entrance examination will be available in the official website of JCECEB. Candidates have to register before applying for the entrance test. After registration you will get a Registration Number and Password on the registered email ID or mobile number.
- Log in to the official website using the Registration Number and Password.
- Enter personal details and educational details.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature are thumb impression.
- Pay the application fee online and submit the application form.
- Take a printout of the application form for further requirements.

BIT Sindri UG Admission 2020
BIT Sindri college offers B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering, Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology. The college also offers B.Tech Lateral Entry in the 3rd semester of courses. Candidates should appear JCECE 2020, to apply for B.Tech courses and for Lateral Entry, they will conduct a competitive examination separately.
BIT Sindri UG Eligibility
Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent examination with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry with Minimum 45% marks together. Candidates should have a diploma with 45% marks or B.Sc with maths as a subject for Lateral Entry.
