Eligibility Criteria for BA, B.Com, B.Sc:

All the aspiring candidates should have passed [10+2] or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board or any other equivalent examination conducted by any State Board or Equivalent with a minimum 50% marks aggregate with English as a subject. All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum aggregate set as above.

Arya Vidyapeeth college is one of the premier institute in northeast India, which is located in the city of Guwahati. For Admission eligibility in B.sc, your aggregate in PCM or PCB should be at least 75% for major courses. For General course, you should have at least an aggregate of 60%. Typically cut off depends on the performance of the 12th candidates who seek admission but since its one of the best institute in the city for science which is affiliated under Gauhati University. The cut-off stays between 75-80%.

The eligibility criteria for the 12th pass for admission. After that, admissions was solely based on merit, be it general course or majors. There weren't any entrance in the admissions process. There were no cutoffs either.

There is no entrance exam for B.Sc course. The eligibility for B.Sc course is to have a minimum of 80% in Higher Secondary or 10+2. Typical cutoffs for general caste is about 85% or 9.5 CGPA. For SC, ST, OBC it might vary from 70% to 80% or 8.0 CGPA to 9.0 CGPA.

Admission Process of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati are given below please check,

Eligibility:

Higher Secondary Course :

A candidate must pass H.S.L.C. Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam, or equivalent examination recognised by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

Three-year Degree Course :

A candidate must pass Higher Secondary Examination of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or equivalent examination recognised by the U.G.C.

Procedure:

Admission will be strictly on merit. The candidates selected should get themselves admitted on the specified date of admission, failing which they will forfeit their claim.

Required percentage of seat in each class is kept under reserved category as per the Government directives. Further, five seats in each class are reserved for students who show proficiency in “Extra Curricular activity”. Minimum qualification for applying in “Extra Curricular Activity Quota” is proficiency, at least at the State level.

One may apply for admission in Extra Curricular Activity Quota in the same form inscribing in bold on the top of the form as Application in “Extra Curricular Activity Quota”.

Properly filled-up forms submitted within the stipulated date shall only be considered for admission. Candidates seeking admission shall have to produce the following original documents at the time of admission :

  • Marksheets of the examinations passed.
  • Age Certificate.
  • Two copies of recent passport size photograph.
  • Character Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.
  • Caste Certificate along with a photocopy of the same (whenever required).
  • Migration Certificate (for students migrating from a Board / Council / University other than AHSEC / G.U.) with a photo copy of the same.
  • Gap Certificate (for candidates having a break in continuity of one or more years from continuous promotion or admission to the next higher class). Please note that, Gap certificate may be issued only by the Head of the Institution (last attended) or a Gazetted Officer.

A student promoted to 2nd year H.S. class or TDC 3rd / 5th Semester class shall have to take admission by depositing necessary fees at the college counter on a date to be notified by the Principal, which is usually within 15 days of opening of the college in the next session or declaration of the result.

ADMISSION TO UNSUCCESSFUL STUDENTS :

Unsucessful students of H.S. and TDC Examinations will be admitted as casual students only.
