Admission FAQs

  • How many of you have not been selected for the AFMC despite having a good NEET score? What was the reason behind that?
    Answer:
    Long answer ahead :)

Hello, I'm one of those people who haven't been selected for AFMC this year.

Afmc has been on my mind since childhood but I could never think about how tricky NEET could be. I am a repeater. I had dropped a year & prepared for NEET 2018. I was a regular student Of Aakash Institute Dehradun, I also had taken a DLP from Allen Kota, apart from that I gave in best of my efforts. I literally gave up on everything. For the last three months before NEET'18 I didn't sleep for more than 4 hours a day, totally neglected my health, in order to wake up for long hours I used to gulp down 5–6 cups of strong coffee due to which I became restless at times, my hands shivered & heart rate raised and certainly dealt with insomnia ..I used to study for the whole night (because it's quite at night and I could concentrate better) and sleep from 6–10 in the morning and rush again and These were some of the deadly mistakes I made.. Every single thing I did was for my dream destination AFMC. I scored pretty well in tests. Everything was going okay-ish. Then comes the D-day.

6th May ’18

I was all ready for it. I was excited to see the paper but as soon as I reached the center my confidence level went 10 to 5 & to 0 eventually but I kept on calming myself.

The paper arrived. I started with the biology section. Did it right. But deep down I had a gut feeling (“I'm not getting AFMC”) ..I came onto physics after biology and solved some questions, Sigh! My answers were matching. But chemistry! I don't know what went wrong at that time. I ruined it. I realized that I was very anxious & tired during the exam. Was dejected. But I still had attempted 140 questions. Last year the Cuttoff for AFMC (girls) was 600 so I had lost all hopes.

I do have a good neet score. Good enough to get a govt seat in my state. But I did not fill the state counseling..honestly, I can't resist myself from thinking about joining AFMC. I might drop again because I don't want to compromise on something I truly desire for since childhood. I am blessed to get opportunities to work harder. This year I was a teeny bit away from AFMC. I don't just have to earn a degree/living. I want to pursue this not solely for money, respect, status, etc, I have a different purpose. Let's see what life has for me. I will just work harder and wait for my time.

So the reason why I couldn't make it to AFMC this year is My Improper Schedule due to which I lost upon my health.

Health is important. I realized it!

Thanks for reading.
