Eligibility Criteria for All India Institute of Medical Sciences, [AIIMS] New Delhi Admissions 2019


Eligibility Criteria for MBBS

  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen to get through AIIMS, New Delhi admissions 2019

  • The aspirants should have attained 17 years on the year of admission.

  • The applicant should have passed the 12th Class under [10+2] scheme/ CBSE/ I.Sc or an equivalent exam under Board of any Indian State with PCB and English as main subjects.

  • The entrant should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in PCB and English for General candidates and 50% in case of SC/ST candidates.

  • For Foreign Nationals the candidate should apply to the Government of India through their diplomatic channels. 

Eligibility Criteria for M.Ch

  • An examinee should possess MS degree of a University recognized by Medical Council of India. The entrance examinations are conducted in December and May every year.

  • A candidate must obtain an MBBS degree and should have completed the required period of pre-registration internship in a recognized hospital.

Eligibility Criteria for MHA

  • The minimum qualification for admission to MHA course is a Bachelor's Degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Engineering/ Technology/ Medical/ Dental/ Pharmacy/ Agriculture or any other professional courses from any recognized Indian Universities

  • The applicant has to complete [10+2] from a reputed board with atleast 50% marks in post graduation subjects.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc

  • The candidate should posses MBBS/ BDS/ B.V.Sc/ B.Pharmacy/ B.Physio-therapy/ B.Sc.

  • The examinee must have obtained atleast 60% marks for Genernal/ OBC candidates in aggregate in the qualifying exam.

Eligibility Criteria for Other Courses.

B.Optom/ B.Sc/ B.Sc [Hons]

  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen.

  • The examinee should be of minimum 17 years of age on the year of admission.

  • The entrant should have passed 12th under the [10+2] scheme/ CBSE/ I.Sc or an equivalent exam from a recognized University with English and PCB as its main subjects.

  • The candidate applying for B.Optom and B.Sc [Hons] should have passed [10+2] or equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology.

MD/ MS/ MDS

  • A candidate must possess MBBS degree for M.D/ M.S and MDS courses of a University recognized by the Medical Council of India.

  • The entrant must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in all the MBBS/ BDS professional exam.

  • The examinee belonging to SC/ST must have obtained marks not less than 50% in all the professional examinations.

Application Process for MBBS

Application Process - All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

  • The candidates seeking admission to the entrance exam have to send their application in the prescribed form.

  • The entrant should appear for the entrance exam held on 1st June of every year in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Jammu.

  • After the declaration the result the selection letters are issued by the Academic Section.

  • The selected candidates are required to undergo a medical examination. The candidates if found fit after the medical examination shall have to pay the fees immediately.

Application Process for M.Sc

  • For post graduate courses a candidate should submit separate application form for M.Sc course.

  • The candidate should provide a certificate showing DOB issued by Board.

  • Provisional passing certificate of the qualifying exam which makes the candidate eligible for the admission of the course.

  • Detailed marksheets showing the marks obtained by the applicant.

Application Process for Other Courses.

B.Optom/ B.Sc/ B.Sc [Hons]

  • One application is required to be submitted for admission to undergraduate courses which will be considered for admission to two undergraduate courses.

  • The candidate should have an Admit card issued by AIIMS, New Delhi.

  • University showing the DOB of the applicant.

  • Provisional passing certificate of the qualifying exam which makes the candidate eligible for admission to the course.

  • Detailed mark sheets of the qualifying exam showing the marks secured by the applicant

  • Migration certificate from the University.

  • Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board.

MD/ MS/ MDS

  • Eligible candidate will be called for an Entrance Exam. The selection will be made entirely on the basis of merit in the entrance test.

  • For Foreign examinee are required to fill in the application form stating the subject of choice for admission to postgraduate courses leading to the award of MD/ MS degree.

  • The Foreign nationals are required to send their application through the diplomatic channel. They are also required to appear in the entrance test.

  • The seat allotment is purely based on the merit of their performance in the entrance test.

Admission Process for MBBS

AIIMS admits 77 seats for MBBS course annually through CEE. The admitted seats are distributed as follows:

  • 37 seats for General Candidates

  • 19 seats for OBC

  • 11 seats for SC

  • 5 seats for ST

  • 5 seats for Foreign Nationals

  • For Indian nationals 3% reservations for OPH [Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped].

Admission Process for M.Ch

  • In AIIMS, New Delhi the candidates are selected through 2 steps competitive examination held at national level.

  • The examinee should shortlist in MS and Basic Neurosurgery.

  • The candidates are examined to evaluate their clinical acumen and aptitude.

  • In 6 years MBBS course, the candidates who clear the AIIMS postgraduate entrance exams are shortlisted based on their merit.

Admission Process for MHA

Admission Process - All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

  • In AIIMS take applicants in terms of the merit. The applications for the same will be circulated in the month of April and accepts the applicants until August for admission process.
  • The applicants must download the applicaton form from the wedsite of the opted university.

  • The applicants also have to fill up the form and submit it to the administration in prior to the deadline mentioned.

Admission Process for M.Sc

  • Admission will be made entirely based on the performance of candidates at the entrance examination to be conducted in Delhi.

  • There shall be a uniform minimum cutoff of not less than 50% marks in the competitive entrance test as a condition of eligibility for all candidates.

  • For Foreign nationals should fill in the application form prescribed by the Institute for this purpose. The application form must be routed through diplomatic channel.

Admission Process for Other Courses.

B.Optom/ B.Sc/ B.Sc [Hons]

AIIMS, New Delhi admits 27% seats for OBC candidates.

  • 15% seats for SC.

  • 7.5% seats for ST.

  • 5%  seats for candidates who are OPH [Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped]

MD/ MS/ MDS

  • In AIIMS, New Delhi there shall be an overall reservation of 33% with a 25% discipline wise reservation.

  • 22.5% of the total of postgraduate seats are reserved for SC/ ST candidates.

  • 5% of the total M.D/ M.S seats are reserved for those who have served in rural areas for more than 2 years.
