 ACADEMICS & FACULTY Know more

  • The daily routine doesn't change very often to most people. The whole lot of students are divided into morning and evening slots. The timings for morning slots usually begin on 8:00 AM and go on till 1:00 PM, covering the theory classes while the lab classes comprise of 2 hour periods in the evenings from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM and vice versa for the people opting evening slots.
  • The classes are usually filled with interest and concentration in the first year but gradually erode away as the years go on.
In the college, there are about 1/5th teachers who are truely capable of teaching with knowledge over their subjects, while only another 1/5th of that small group are capable of bringing out an interest into the subject.
  • The overall experience of the college can be considered as a learning curve. It helps you realise your likes and dislikes, realise what you do know and that which you need to know.
Although there is a certain sense of freedom, some might say that the college is pretty strict compared to those of the north but i must say that although it might seem redundant and stern, the college does what it feels is a way to gaurentee a students' safety.

PLACEMENTS & ALUMNI NETWORK Know more

  • There are many tier 1 companies that come to the campus to recruit.
Infosys, Wipro, HP are some of the companies which tell about the pedegree of the college.
  • For the past couple of years the college has been endorsing its brand by saying that it has upheld a 100 percent placement record for all of its students.
  • As for internships, the college does provide an opportunity to go on many internships once the student fullfils a criteria, most of the time its just about a required CGPA, usually one above 8.

 INFRASTRUCTURE & TRANSPORTATION Know more

  • The college infrastructure is one of the best parts about the campus.
From lush green walks to one of the best on campus libraries in India, Vellore Institue of Technology has it all.
  • The Hostels range from single bed, double bed, triple bed and six bed with some having A/C. The priority of getting the room of your choice depends on the CGPA. There are 12 mens hostles all around one another while the the girls having around 7.
  • There are quiet a lot of PG's around the college so any intrest in staying outside is viable. The prices as far as i know are ranging from INR 30000 to INR 70000 a month.
  • A personlised Wifi account is given to each student which consists of 8Gb of data per month. In most places the wifi is good enough to stream as well as game, lagg free not gaurenteed.
  • The quality of classrooms, labs and dining halls are as good as it can get for a college in India. The hygiene is up to the people who use it to decide, whether the crowd decides to keep in neat or not.

 CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS Know more

  • Almost all the people tend to get into some or the other clubs of their intrest and experience being a part of something bigger than them.
There are many societies in all fields of engineering as well as hobbies. You have your basic math clubs, toast masters, quiz clubs, music clubs along with the core engineering clubs like the Ieee and apple developers group and many more.
  • There are 2 Big College fests in VIT. The Riviera and Gravitas.
The Gravitas is the tech fest which happens in the odd semesters while Riviera is the famous cultural fest which usually brings in the big names.
The mood during Riviera is very chill and enjoyable. Both These fests host many events and tournaments including esports.
