ACADEMICS & FACULTY: NIT Calicut has Head of Departments, Professors, Assistant Professors, Associate professors, and Ad-hoc faculties who are well equipped to take classes. The number of class hours varies depending on the course being pursued, and in usually only between 20-30 hours a week for B. Tech course. Such relaxed classroom sessions provides students with time for other projects, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. B. Tech is an 8 semester course, with each semester lasting about 4 months. There are 2 tests in between the semester, and one final exam.
