Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh is sponsored by Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education and was established in 1977. It is one of the pioneer Engineering Institutes in the state of Andra Pradesh. VRSEC is an autonomous college affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University [JNTUK], Kakinada.

It is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation [NBA], certified under ISO and approved by All India Council of Technical Education [AICTE]. It is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council as a NAAC-A grade Institute. The Institute is situated in 24.05 acres of land. It has also been accredited by TCS with ‘B’ Grade in 2011.

Ragging Prevention committees have been formed with teaching and non-teaching staff as members. The college conducts various programs and activities throughout the year. The college has received a gold medal from the governor of AP for its contribution in NSS activities. The institute's central vision is to excel in the field of engineering by imparting timeless core values to the learners and to mould the institution into a centre of academic excellence and advanced research.
