SRM University Scholarship 2024 is offered to students as financial aid to help them pursue their academic careers without any constraints. Students with exemplary academic records and scores in qualifying examinations are awarded these scholarships.

SRM University Merit Scholarships

SRM University offers various merit scholarships to its students. The details of the SRM University scholarships are mentioned below.

SRM University Founder’s Scholarship

SRM University Chennai awards toppers in all-India qualifying examinations such as Joint Entrance Examinations. This SRM University Scholarship 2024 will be applicable for four years from the time of admission.

SRM University SRMJEEE Scholarship

In addition to the Founder’s scholarship, as mentioned above, SRM University scholarships are offered to students who rank 101 to 500 and onwards across all phases. The scholarship is awarded during the first year, only for the B.Tech course.

SRM University Chancellor Constituency Scholarship

This SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai scholarship is awarded to students for their exemplary academic performance in their HSC or an equivalent degree. 

Students must submit proof of income and any other documentation required once they are selected for the scholarship. The SRM University scholarships are awarded during the first year of program post-admission. 

The two scholarships awarded are:

• The Perambalur Chancellor Scholarship 
• PKMS

SRM University Performance-Based Scholarship

SRMIST scholarships are awarded to students for their consistently admirable performances during their course tenure. Students who maintain a CGPA of 9 or more are offered this scholarship. 

However, students must note that this scholarship depends on the batch strength and the budgetary funds available at the university.

SRM University Scholarship For Foreign Students

SRM University Scholarship 2024 is offered to African students to promote higher education and help them complete their studies without any financial constraints, irrespective of their economic conditions. 

The details of the scholarship are listed below:

• This scholarship applies to African and SAARC students.
• This is an economic scholarship, designed especially for African students.
• This scholarship comes in a combo pack for SAARC students.

SRM University Scholarship For NRI/PIO/OCI Students

This scholarship is for students who are admitted to the B.Tech course. A tuition fee waiver of 50% is awarded to the selected students. The details of this SRM University scholarship are tabulated below.

SRM University Founder’s Scholarship For NRI/PIO/OCI Students

This SRM University scholarship is awarded to students who score 70% or more in the relevant subjects in various examinations. The selected candidates are awarded a 50% Tuition-Fee Waiver.

SRM University Socio-Economic Scholarships

SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai scholarships are offered as financial aid to various categories of students, including financially backward students. The scholarships are given as concessions in the form of tuition fee waivers.

SRM University Financial Aid

• SRMIST offers financial aid for students who have lost their sole earning member or have to stop their studies due to financial constraints. 
• Students must submit all the required documents for the scholarship to be awarded.
• Under the Humanitarian/Reference Sub-category, this scholarship is awarded once the Chancellor approves it.
• In addition, SRM University has tie-ups with ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Indian Bank and City Union Bank, which offer education loans to students on admission.

SRM University Scholarship for Differently-Abled

SRM University Chennai offers equal educational opportunities for all its students. To encourage and motivate students to take up higher studies, the university offers scholarships to differently-abled students.

A scholarship of 25% to 100% Tuition-Fee Waiver is awarded, depending on the eligibility criteria. Students with physical, mental or multiple disabilities are eligible for this SRMIST scholarship. 

The disabilities include:

• Locomotor or Orthopaedic Disability
• Visually Impaired Students
• Speech/Hearing Impaired Students
• Mental Disabilities
• Multiple Disabilities

SRM University Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Scholarship

• Initiated from 2020, this SRM University Scholarship 2024 will provide free education to Initiated in 2020, this SRM University Scholarship 2024 will provide free education to the selected meritorious students from rural India who have completed their 10+2 with admirable scores.
• Under the Vendar Education Grants Scheme, students are required to be admitted to a regular course program alongside submitting all relevant documents to the university during admissions. 
• SRM University Chennai has eight villages under this scheme, and each year, one student from each village is selected.

SRM University Other Socio-Economic Scholarships

Various other SRM University Chennai scholarships are awarded to deserving students, irrespective of their socio-economic status. A scholarship of 25% to 100% Tuition-Fee Waiver is awarded in different categories, depending on the eligibility criteria.

• Scholarships to NGOs and Tribal Communities- Students who are recommended by their respective NGOs are eligible for this scholarship. In addition, the scholarship is awarded post-admission and proof of income must be submitted, among other documents.
• Need-Based Scholarship- This SRM University scholarship is offered in the 2nd year of the course tenure to those who have a family income less than INR 6 LPA.
• Scholarships For Low Income-  In this scholarship, students must be recommended by their respective associations and submit proof of income.

SRM University Arts and Culture Scholarship

• SRMIST aims to encourage and motivate students for their exemplary displays in cultural activities, arts and other creative endeavours. 
• Students who have represented themselves at the State/National level or have represented their country at an international level are eligible to apply for this SRM University Scholarship 2024.
• Students are required to submit all relevant documentation, certificates and proof of awards for this scholarship.
• A scholarship of 25% to 100% Tuition-Fee Waiver is awarded for Arts and Fine Culture categories, depending on the eligibility criteria.

SRM University Employee Ward Scholarship

• SRM University values the services of all the Teaching, Non-Teaching and other Administrative staff.
• The wards of the staff mentioned above are eligible to apply for this SRM University Scholarship 2024. 
• The scholarship guidelines include that the employees who have completed a minimum of 5 years of continuous service at the university are eligible to apply for the scholarship for their children.
• The employees' service certificates must be submitted alongside other documents during the scholarship application.

SRM University Alumni Scholarship

• The wards of the alumni of SRM University Chennai are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
• The scholarship is applicable for students whose parents completed their UG degrees not more than 15 years ago and PG course degrees not more than ten years ago.
• The scholarship guidelines include the alums to actively contribute or participate in university activities at least twice a year.
• A scholarship of 25% Tuition-Fee Waiver is awarded to the selected students.

SRM University Defence Scholarship

• SRM University values the services of the Indian Defence Force and thus offers scholarships to motivate and encourage them to pursue higher studies. 
• The scholarship is applicable for both serving and retired Defence personnel.
• Students must note that Paramilitary personnel are not offered this SRM University scholarship.
• In addition, students are allowed to apply for this only post-SRMJEEE Counselling.
• To be selected for this scholarship, students must submit all the required documents during their 1st year of enrolment. 

SRM University Sponsored Scholarship

This SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai scholarship is offered by the State/Central Government or other sponsoring agencies such as NGOs. This scholarship applies to every course offered at the university.

Students must note that the conditions of the scholarship depend on the guidelines set by the respective funding agencies.

SRM University Scholarship Guidelines

The various guidelines for the SRM University Scholarship 2024 that will be awarded to students are listed down below:

• The scholarships are awarded by verifying the documents, certificates and any other documents required by the university.
• Students must read the eligibility criteria that are mentioned clearly on the SRM University official website before applying for any SRM University scholarship.
• Even if a student is eligible for more than one scholarship, they are awarded only one scholarship as per the student's choice.
• In case a student is charged with disciplinary action or misconduct, then the scholarship can be revoked.
• In case of false information or incorrect bank details, the scholarship could be cancelled.
• The SRM University Scholarship Committee reserves the right to award and cancel the scholarship at any given time.
• A minimum attendance and CGPA maintenance rule is levied for the continuation of the scholarships.
