  • The daily routine for the course I am doing is not too hectic as compared to other courses.
  • The classes go on for 5 to 6 hours.
  • After one and a half month , we get a mid-semester break. It is after/during that break when we get our assignments.
  • The tests are tentative, there can be any number of tests, whenever the concerned professor so desires.
  • Some faculty members are good some aren't ,on a whole it is above average.
  • There are a lot of societies in the college. Every student will find something for sure that interests him/her.
  • Nexus, is our main cultural fest. Other than this we have society fests and department fests round the year.
  • There's never a dull day in college. Life in college is honestly what you make it. If you decide to be active, it can be a lot of fun. You get to meet a lot of different people, there's always a lot of energy in the atmosphere. There's a lot to do and a lot to learn.
  • But if you decide to be dormant then it becomes really monotonous and boring. I'd really suggest you to come out of the shell for once and live it to the fullest. Don't miss out on the fun.

  • Daily routine of our sciences in college starts at 8:45 am morning, with classes. Each class takes 1 hour for final year students. Them after continous classes, a practical lab helds except wednesday. The college concludes at 5:30pm. For science students, its a very hectic schedule.
  • Though Sri Venkateswara College is among the top five colleges across the University of Delhi, so the quality of education is as expected. The teachers of our dept. are well qualified, pioneers in their respective fields, and the most important thing, there is a healthy and friendly student teacher relationship with every teacher. They motivate us in every aspect of academics, as well as outside.
  • There are societies related to every field of co-curriculars like dance, western music, classical, debating societies, entrepreunership cell etc. I am enrolled with the wildlife society and the social work society.
  • Every dept. and society organizes its own annual festival. A college festival which runs 3 consecutive days called Nexus is also organized annualy.
  • In general life in the college is pretty awesome. From academics to sports etc, everything is good.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: Sri Venkateswara College provides its students with a well educated and friendly faculty. The classes are consistent, and the professors are always open to any doubts that a student has, even if that means taking up their doubts after class.
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS: The college offers a variety of cultural clubs in terms of western dance and indian dance etc. The college also has an art club as well as many other clubs a student can choose from. In terms of sports, basketball, cricket and football are the three major games played on campus.
SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE: The college has a wide student diversity and the tolerance towards all genders, ethinicity, race, economic status etc is very high. The use of alcohol is banned inside the campus and there are so bars or pubs near the campus. However, one can mind many restaurants serving food of various kinds near the campus.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: Like every college, this college too has its set of teachers who work hard to make notes for the students and concentrate on each child's growth and there are teachers who teach just for the sake of doing it. But, I have to say most of the professors here are highly qualified and knowledgeable.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE: The college offers such opportunities, but not many that I know of. Lack of Foreign opportunities is a drawback.

About Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, New Delhi

Fifty years ago, three stalwarts in the public domain, Smt Durgabai Deshmukh, Dr K.L.Rao and Dr C.Anna Rao, transformed their spirited vision and dream to reality in the shape of Sri Venkateswara College. Fired with the zeal of promoting the cause of education, the college was set up at New Delhi under the benign auspices of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh in 1961.

The foundation stone for the construction of a full-fledged building in the spacious 15 acres provided at Dhaula Kuan was laid on August 20, 1961 appropriately and auspiciously by Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, India's outstanding teacher, scholar and statesman. This year, the College celebrates its golden anniversary with August 2010 ushering in our fiftieth year of pioneering excellence in the field of education.

The TTD is an autonomous organization managing the affairs of Lord Balaji. While it maintains 12 temples and their sub-shrines, it employs about about 14,000 persons and runs charitable and educational institutions throughout the country. Though the initial objective of starting a college in Delhi was to cater to the educational needs of students hailing from the Southern states of India, this TTD institution soon outgrew its regional character. It has now become one of the most sought after co-educational colleges in India.

The college has seen tremendous development since its inception. It began functioning modestly in a school building of the Andhra Education Society at Rouse Avenue, New Delhi with 273 students and 13 staff members and moved into its own spacious buildings in Dhaula Kuan in 1971.
