Shibli National College, Azamgarh was founded in 1883 by Allama Shibli Nomani, oriental scholar, Islamic historian, and educationist. The College aims at achieving large-hearted tolerance, fraternity and brotherhood, and concord among various communities, inculcating a scientific temper and free-thinking, and thereby shaping and molding the students to become ideal citizens of the country.

The college offers various specialization in courses of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs along with Diploma and Certificate courses through its departments.
