RVR and JC College of Engineering, Guntur was established by the renowned Nagarjuna Education Society in the year 1985. It is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE]. It is also accreditated by the National Board of Accreditation [NBA] and Grade 'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC], and National Institutional Ranking Framework [NIRF].

The college has well-qualified faculty members, supporting staff, state of the art laboratory and workshop facilities. The mission of the college is to develop integrated manpower possessing the technological and managerial knowledge and skills; values and ethics needed to make an honourable living. The college has a training and placement cell which provides placement assistance to its students and bridges the gap between the industries and students. The RVRJC admission is offered at an undergraduate and postgraduate level in the field of Engineering, Technology, and Management. Moreover, the college provides value-added courses in order to prepare the students to meet the challenges of the global work environment.

The placement cell conducts workshops, seminars in order to improve the soft skills and technical skills for the overall personality development of the students. The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls namely Nes Mens' Hostel, New Womens' Hostel. The campus spreads over an area of 37.4 acres of land consists of Library, Computer Center, E-Classrooms, Seminar Rooms, Canteens, Stores, Hostels. 

In order to organize co-curricular and extra-curricular events, there are Four A.C Seminar Halls, an Auditorium, an Open-air Theatre that make life colourful and enjoyable.

The college has NCC and NSS which aims at utilizing their knowledge in finding the practical solution to an individual, community problems and develop the capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters. It also has an Entrepreneurship Management Development Cell [EMDC] that was set up by the college in order to promote and educate young students to take the benefit of the policies of the government by establishing their own ventures.
