  • Manipal University has a large number of student clubs for technical, art, sport, media and social events.
  • The largest cultural festival in the University is Utsav, Techtatva is a technical festival hosted by Manipal Institute of Technology
  •  SOC, Manipal hosts India's first media college festival.
College Infrastructure:
  • The hostels are well maintained, hygienic and are in affinity to the academic blocks
  • The hostel fee is 30,000 rupees per year to 3.5 lakh rupees per year at School of Communication.
  • PGs and independent flats are available easily in Manipal with prices around INR 8,000 per month for an individual.
  • The university has 2 food courts and numerous small messes in and around the campus with Mess fees around INR 40,000 per year which is included in the hostel fees.
  • The quality of classrooms, libraries and dining halls is state of the art and includes a 5 storied library.
Academics & Faculty:
  • Class timing is from 9 am to 4 pm at School of Communication which includes lectures, projects, assignments and a lunch break from 12.30 pm to 2 pm.

  • There are various fests like Article 19 and Proverb.
College Infrastructure:
  • There are 21 hostel blocks in School Of Communication.
  • The furnishing of the hostels superb and hygienic.
  • The hostel fee depends on the type of hostel you stay in, for example, triple sharing common bath, double sharing with attach bathroom, single and luxurious rooms.
  • The food quality is average and the fee for the mess is forty thousand per year.
  • The quality of classrooms is good, with centralised AC and the library has a varietry of books.
Academics & Faculty:
  • Classes begin at 9 am and end at 5 pm at School Of Communication.
  • The assignments and projects that are given by the professors are relevant and helps in developing more knowledge about the subject.
  • The quality and method of teaching are commendable as the professors are extremely experienced.
Fees and Scholarship:
  • The course fee for the NRI/Foreign category is 3 lakhs and above. There are no scholarship options at School Of Communication.

Societies & Associations:
  • SOC has four main clubs for debate, drama, dance and art. They are all very active and participate in college fests frequently.The main college fest is Article-19, which is a media fest. Students are responsible for planning and organizing it. 
College Infrastructure:
  • The infrastructure at School of Communication is good.
  • It also provides hostel facilities.
Academics & Faculty:
  • Classes typically start at 9 am and end at 5 pm, but this varies depending on the timetable. Projects are considered an integral part of the course and many of the assignments given to us are graded. 
  • The quality of teaching is excellent at School of Communication.
Fees and Scholarship:
  • Per year, the tuition fee at School of Communication is 1,10,000 rupees. This is excluding mess and hostel fees.
  • There are no scholarships available.
Placements & Internships:
  • Campus placements are relatively good. Companies like Uber, Cognizant and Thomson Reuters come down to interview and hire graduates from School of Communication.
  • Starting salary offered can vary from 20,000 per month to 50,000 per month. 
Admissions:
  • The eligibility criteria at School of Communication is to pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent and a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Admission is done on the basis of an entrance examination, MU-OET.

Societies & Associations:
  • There are many clubs and societies in the college. There is a network for explorers, artists, journalists, dancers with clubs for every one who has a hobby or a passion or just wants to learn new things. The most important fest there is Article 19, the annual media fest of the college.
  • There's also Utsav, the annual cultural fest of Manipal University.
  • There's so much more! College life is the best! I am elated that I studied there and made loads of memory. I wish I could live that beautiful life again. 
College Infrastructure:
  • There's plenty of room for everyone at the hostels as the hostels are airy and spacious. Hostel life is world apart and very memorable.
  • There are others low cost options available outside hostels like apartments on rent and PG's.
  • The food in the canteen is on an average side. I really miss the puri bhajji.
  • The infrastructure is pretty good with all the required facilities although the campus is a bit small. 
Placements & Internships:
  • We had to hunt for internship on our own although if a students finds it difficult to get one, the faculty is ever helpful and helps to secure one.
  • The placements aren't up to the mark there is a lot of scope for improvement.
  • The alumni put in good effort to help in the college placements. One a personal note I would love to go back to this college to hire students.
Fees and Scholarship:
  • Don't remember the fee structure.
  • But there are loads of opportunities for foreign exchange program with scholarships! It's amazing, the kind of opportunities available here. 
Academics & Faculty:
  • Projects are very interesting and getting fun to make them. Exams are not very tough. To do assignments is to be fun and throughout provoking. The quality of most faculty is good and there's lots of scope for improvement and learning. This small yet warm college will always hold a special place in my heart. My three years here have been the most memorable and cherished ones in my life. It changed me in a huge way and if I had the choice, I would go back there!

Academics & Faculty: The classes start from 9 in the morning and ends at 4 with some breaks and assignment/library hours in between. This course have more of practicle works (i.e projects like feild work, recording, documenting and soon) which keep increasing with the course of time. There is external marking and internal marking. External examinations are usually practical work or sometimes written.This is a 3 years course and in the 1st 2 years the acadamic is not that hectic, this allows the students to take part in cultural programes even take out time to create their own documentaries, flims and also develop their hobbies on photography, paiting soon. The college not only support the sudents in acadamics but also develop oneself in other areas too. Manipal has one of the best faculty and are at help for the student at any time.
