ACADEMICS & FACULTY:

There are 2-3 timings of classes. 7 am to 2 pm or 10 am to 6 pm excluding breaks. Academic routines are good. All the students are guided under a faculty, if you have any doubt or any personal problem, then they help you.

There are lots of opportunities for projects, if you are interested then you can join any types of projects like robotics, automobile etc. If you want to do project and if you have any idea, then almost every faculty help you.

Most important I like in this college is exam, you can see many other colleges which conduct exams but their exam timing is not fixed in starting of the semester, but Kiit University exams are fixed. For odd semester, in 1st week of September mid semester and between 15th Nov. to 30th Nov. end semester are conducted. And for even semester, in 1st week to Feb. mid semester and between 10th April to 30th April end semesters are conducted. Within 1 months your result will published and in between you can see your exams sheets by online. So, college maintains transparency about exams.

Most of the faculties are Doctorate degree. They are very helpful. They teach you in a most suitable method. They also show you some presentation for better understanding. The quality of teaching is overall good.

My overall experience in Kiit University is very good, this college provides all the facilities and well quality teaching. Most important thing which I like most is that in this college you are get connected to all the fields about your future like GATE, CAT coaching’s (if you plan for higher studies), Extra-curricular activities, sports.

  • well , the day starts of with a nice little mornng walk with closed ones as the morning coaching class begins at 7 o'clock in the morning with nice cool breeze blowing around and glimpse of sun rising is adorable! On the way back, the most awaited breakfast at the morning stall happens! And just an hour aftr that the classes  are scheduled. College starts from 10:30 and it  ends in the evening at 6 o'clock. The classes are boring as usual and since its a private cum autonomous cum deemed university , no one can be blamed! The faculties are not at  all co-operating and supportive, they might be highly qualified but wat is the use of it when its not payig you anything in return! The only source of entertainment is the projects in which you are involved in where you get to know so many people  including seniors and juniors! there are so many restrictions and rules and regulations which obviously a 21 year old guy won't be liking it to follow. The University is not at all supportive even when it comes down to projects and research programmes. An individual has to invest from its own pocket in order to persue your interest even if you are representing the college!

  • With the boom in IT, sector engineering has become a common field in education for students. In India, huge mass is running behind IIT's and NIIT's. Due to huge competition and very few number of seats available in this field, it becomes really hard to crack into these institutions.
  • In this scenario KIIT, bhubaneswar which is private deemed university emerges as a better alternative. Not only it provides good quality of education but also a lot of extra activities including research.
  • All the streams of engineering are available in this college like C&S, IT, ETC, EEE, E&I, MECH, CIVI.Dual degree options are also available.
  • University has huge wifi enable campus and having semester system with midsemester in every Sem.
  • Hundreds of companies visit the campus for placement including Amazon, intel, flipkart, google, tcs etc.
  • Professors are friendly in and outside the class, can have good interaction beckoning direction to career.
  • The annual fees are Rs. 3.0 lakhs pa.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE: The university has plenty of international exchange programs, wherein foreign students from Afghanistan, Turkey, South Korea, China visited our campus for the programs offered by the School of Languages, primarily for learning English. Other schools like the School of Engineering or say, School of Law don't have such programs. The university is also an active member of several association of universities of national and international repute like the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), International Association of Universities (IAU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), to name a few. Professors from the foreign universities with whom KIIT has signed MOUs used to grace our college with their honorable presence and the talks delievered by them were indeed refreshing and enlightening. Other than that, only those students who were close to Professors or had a strong network within the campus used to get that once-in-a-blue-moon chance to visit international college campuses on an exchange program, and only half the cost was beared by the university. So, even if you are a quite bright and popular student in the university, you may lose this rare chance also if you can't afford it. So, there's no harm in saying that it was basically an elitist institution.

  • The teachers and students communicate in English. and on campus some students communicate in English, mostly those who are practising or participating in some activity which requires speaking ability, in hostel almost everyone communicates in Hindi.
  • don't know about other exchange partnership programs butexchangeC excahnge program requires student to only pay for there ticket fare.
  • Engineering stream does not have a lot of foreign Exchange partnership programs.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE:
  • There are quite a lot of foreign delegates coming every month in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, so there is possible exchange partnership. But what I feel is that the exchange partnership seems to be only one sided, as I have never really heard except once or twice that someone has gone on an exchange partnership.
  • The language mostly spoken on campus is Hindi and then English. Many Professors teach in English, whereas sometimes they are bound to teach in Hindi as the majority of students studying are Hindi speaking.

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
  • The course fee is approx. Rs 2.5 LPA for B.tech. You will see in college prospectus also. Fee structure will change after 2-3 years. So, I will suggest you please check college prospectus for better information. Apart from this, hostel fee+ food fee is 65000.
  • There are many types of scholarship options available to students. If you get top rank in KIITEE exam, you will get scholarship by the college. Also, If you are OBC, ST and SC student, then you will get scholarship by state gov. welfare department in which you belongs, only if your state gov. provides scholarships for students.
  • Very few students are get scholarship because this is only depends on your stare and category. If your state gov. provide scholarship, then you will definitely get this.
  • If I talk about loans, then It will totally depends upon your family. If your family afford Rs 12-13 lakh then It's OK, but those students who belong to middle class family, loans are required because college fee is little bit high as compared to other colleges. But if you want to take loan then you can easily availed by the bank. There are many banks come at the time of admission for those students who want to take loan. But I suggest you take loan from those banks in which interest rate is low. Most of the banks provide education loan at 13.5-14% interest rate, but some banks like bank of India, union bank of India in which interest rate is 12.5%. But, you may choose according to your interest.

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
  • Institutional fee- Rs 2,20,000 per year + examination and registration fee for every semester

Hostel fee- Rs 35,000 per year

mess fees- Rs 30,000 per year

So overall around Rs 3 lakhs per year

  • Scholarships are given to the top ranker of every branch which is i guess 12,000  for every semester
  • Since there are numerous branches in the University so I guess 10 students must be getting the scholarships.
  • Yes, paying 3 lakhs per year for a middle class family just as a college fee is the toughest thing a middle class family can avail. So basically loans are required. In order to prevail loans we need to roam the entire 400 acre campus just to collect the required number of documents which can easuily take about a month and then the bank will give you loan only if your academic result is quite good!

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP: The university, being an autonomous and self financing institution, used to charge exorbitantly high tuition fees and only kids from upper middle class and rich families can afford to study there. The university gives scholarships to a tiny percentage of meritorious students; students who either had scored a very good rank in the entrance examination of the university or were toppers in their respective schools were entitled to the scholarships. POSCO, South Korea in association with KIIT University jointly provided these scholarships to deserving students. The university had no tie up with any bank to provide loans to students at concessional rates. So, students who could not afford to pay the high tuition fees had to deal with banks regarding education loans directly. However, the sky high tuition fees is justified given the sprawling campus, spick and span hostels, and the minor amount of retired professors from IITs, NITs , and other state government universities they used to hire.

  • As I am a mechanical student, I have done 4 internships according to my branch in Mecon limited, Tata steel growth shop, HEC limited and SAIL (R&D) for knowing about the industries in a better way. But these are not compulsory, if you have done any training in your college life then it is ok. Apart from this, I have also done trainings in some CAD designing mechanical software like AUTOCAD, CATIA, CREO, ANSYS and 3D PLM. If you have interest on 2D and 3D modelling software and doing analysis after joining college, then try to learn these software because these are very useful software for mechanical students. You will learn software and do training according to your branch.
  • The campus placement of the college is excellent. More than 100 companies will come for campus for B.tech students. All types of companies like IT, Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing and Sales come for hire. My suggestion is before choosing a college, must think about your future or career and if you want to build your bright future, than choose a college in which placements are excellent. Kiit University provides you lots of opportunities. According to my personal experience, there is no best branch, every branch is best. If you have talent than you are the best, I challenge that no one can beat you. So choose a branch according to your interest. Kiit University is one of the best college for placement in eastern zone. There are many famous companies come like Tata steel, Tata power, Microsoft, amazon, Samsung, dell and many more..
  • The average salary was approx. Rs 4.6 LPA, and highest salary was approx. Rs 32 LPA. last year and percentage of batch which gets placed are more than 92% and towards 100%. All these information you will see also in the site of Kiit University, www.kiit.ac.in.

PLACEMENTS & ALUMNI NETWORK: Students were left at their mercy to scout for internships or training. They need to dig up contacts from their network in the campus just in case they wish to pursue the same. The Training and Placement Cell (T&P) cell of the university had a dedicated section for issuing No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the students desirous of going for a training or internship. However, the T&P department has very strong connections with industries and hence the placement figures are quite good. Getting an on campus job offer is a cakewalk. A minor chunk of the students were however keen on pursuing higher studies or getting government jobs. For this, the University has a Career Advisory and Augmentation Services (CAAS) division, comprising some of the most brilliant minds in the academia. They used to impart training in aptitude, problem solving skills, and soft skills in an endeavour to help the students fulfill their dreams.

  • PGs are quite unsafe for girls especially. So we can't even think of this. So hostel is more like of compulsion. Other option is ti take a flat on rent which is way costlier.
  • Food in the hostel is not as per the money they are taking. they do not use gloves at the time of survice. They serve untoasted bread in breakfast .half baked breads. In snacks they provide us 4 biscuits that too small biscuits like 50-50 and marry-gold etc with amallest possible cup of tea. Per meal it costs Rs 40-50.
  • Classroom facilities are good. AC classrooms are there.Labs are having equipments but not a good demonstrator. So it's useless. we are not allowed to touch and experiment the machines. Libraries are having very limited no. of books with respect to the number of the students.Dinning halls are big and clean to some extent. Wi-fi is provided in the hostels but of no use because of it's speed. speed is horrible. It's the time of morning I'm filling this form otherwise I couldnot complete it if it was evening odr night when the speed is slowest. On campus, the university is equipped to provide hotel facilities and off campus, students themselves have to find their accommodation, as then they would be living on their own risk. However living off campus, say for example- in a flat. To find a flat , it came easy as well as difficult for girls to find a place , as the localities are not willing to give rent to girl students , And even for guys, some localities might not allow bachelors to stay for rent whereas some  might, however, it's better to stay in hostels if one doesn't have a fixed accommodation.
  • The quality of food available off campus is ABSOLUTELYAWESOMEE, starting from street food to cafe , to fast food cgains like pizza hut , domino's , to restaurants , the food is spot on for students , who want to always save money as well.
  • However, the food in boys hostel is quite bad, whereas in girls hostel the food is fine, and in campus also there are food points, cafes, canteens which also serve great food.
