Societies & Associations:
  • The gymkhana and other clubs are present at our college
  • Sparta is the tech fest here, organized each year by the students
  • Life is great here, you will appreciate food and beauty here.
College Infrastructure:

There are 90 plus hostels and the average fee is INR 12000 per semester, The cost of per meal is INR 40/- in the mess.The classrooms are of good quality and the library and lab are also great.Each classroom is wifi enabled.

Academics & Faculty:
  • 3 hours per subject per week is the schedule, The projects are important here teaching is good
  • The campus is good but hostel accommodation is  not so good
Fees and Scholarship:

INR 45000 was the fee per year for EC and INR 12000 for the mess, various scholarships are there, loans are easy to avail from SBI.

Placements & Internships:
  • INR 12,500 is the stipend for M.Tech Students here.
  • IT companies (you can check on website) and other core companies also come here, along with some PSU for campus placement.
  • The average package is INR 9 Lakh, the highest salary was INR 2 crore
  • The alumni are good but efforts have to be made by students.
Admissions:
  • A B. Tech  degree is the minimum requirement for the course
  • There was no interview, only the counsling  session that was held
  • The admission is through GATE, For the regular candidates, and also for sponsored candidates
  • The intake this year (2017) was 47 for ECE.
  • Thecutoff was 693 for EC.

Societies & Associations:
  • There will be societies for everything that happens on the campus e.g. finance, sports, singing, astronomy, quiz, lit, etc.
  • Main festivals a:t Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi Kashiyatra (cultural), Spardha (sports), Technic (Tech) Pretty chilled out with few campus restrictions for girls
College Infrastructure:
  • There are 9 hostels. Hostels are pretty decent with limited facilities required for a student. Hostel fee is meagre and cost 70 rupees for 4 months. Haven't seen any PG so can't comment on it.
  • Food is primarily north Indian and completely depends on the mess allotted to you .in Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi, It ranges from 10/10 to 1/10.
Academics & Faculty:
  • The daily rouitne Classes were mandatory at our time with min 75% of attendance.
  • The Quality of teaching is good at certain point due to the curriculum followed at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi.
  • Teachers are not that good as per other IIT standards. Although, the routine and teaching methodologies are similar to IITs standard.
Fees and Scholarship:
  • At my time course fee was around 30,000 per year at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi.
  • Need-based scholarship options are available and can be found on the website.
  • Loans are easily available. A need-based scholarship is granted without any bar.
Placements & Internships:
  • My internship was with GE and stipend was 30,000 INR.
  • Key Companies mostly are divided into Software and Nonsoftware. Banking and consulting hardly show any presence. Few analytics firm does come to our Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi campus. Other core companies are from Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical & Electrical sectors. Avg salary fig for our branch was around 6 lac per annum. 96% of the batch got placed. Highest salary was 18 lacs per annum.
  • Alumni network is missing especially in terms of placement help. The college has taken a lot of initiative in building this channel and now it has taken pace.
Admissions:
  • The eligibility criteria for Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi is on sholuld have Selected through IIT-JEE with 60% overall in class XII as eligibility.
  • Our branch rank started from 4100 and went till 5000. It may change every year.

  • The eligibility criteria for joining Indian Institute of Technology is passing the 12th and clearing the JEE MAIN and JEE ADVANCED exam.
  • The cut-off is around 3800 for mechanical and 6700 for metallurgy rank in JEE ADVANCED.

  • Life in this college is awesome.

  • There are 8 hostels in Indian Institute of Technology campus.
  • Food costs Rs. 40 per meal.
  • Food quality is better. 
Academics & Faculty:
  • Class starts from 8 am to 5 pm in Indian Institute of Technology.
  • The quality of education is super.
  • The faculty are quite friendly with students.

  • The course fee at Indian Institute of Technology is around Rs. 1,10,000 pa.
  • Loans are provided to all students,.
  • The loan can be taken from any bank.
Placements & Internships:
  • All type of companies come to Indian Institute of Technology to hire students.
  • Many students get placed in software engineering sector.
Admissions:
  • The eligibility criteria for joining Indian Institute of Technology is clearing the JEE ADVANCED exam and I got 599 ranks in JEE ADVANCED exam under OBC category.

  • Hostel facilities at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi:-
  1. IIT (BHU), Varanasi has a residential and co-educational campus built on an area of 400 acres (1.6 km2) within the larger BHU campus which is spread over nearly 1,300 acres (5.3 km2) at the southern end of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges.
  2. There are 17 hostels for students, 12 for boys, 4 for girls and 1 for married couples.
  • Library facilities at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi:-
  1. The Institute has one Main Library along with many Departmental Libraries. These libraries house more than 200,000 books and subscribe to a large number of scientific and technical journals. Online access to these journals is also possible. All the students are provided with textbook bank facilities where a certain number of books are issued to them for the semester.

Societies & Associations:
  • There are so many student societies and clubs in our college like music, dance , social etc. and there are also so many festivals like Sparda ( the sports festival), Kasiyatatra( cultural festival), Technex ( tech festival) etc.
  • And, in general, the life in the college is awesome at IIT Varanasi.
  • Here, we get well-settled campus with natural greenery, which is the best part, the whole campus is fully green, contains a temple of Lord Vishwnath which is the centre of tourism.
College Infrastructure:
  • Hostels are sufficient so that every student get a room, and also it is free of fees, there are no extra fees for the hostel'
  • It is fully wifi with LAN connection in every room.
  • The mess fee is approx. Rs 35/ meal, but the food quality is too good at IIT Varanasi.
  • The classroom and labs are well maintained, with all required machines and equipment , & for mechanical students, our college labs come in the best labs in all India.
Academics & Faculty:
  • The daily routine is set by a committee of teachers of each department with HOD's and director of the college, which is planned very well so that student have no extra burden.
  • As all the teachers of an IIT are well talented, the way of their teaching is excellent.
  • My overall experience in college is superb, I only can say that I am so lucky that I got this college, IIT Varanasi.
Fees and Scholarship:
  • For general/OBC category student fee is Rs 50,000/ semester whereas for ST/SC it is Rs 5,000 per semester, but there are so many government scholarships like merit cum mean(mcm) etc.
  • And if someone is unable to pay the fees then State bank of India is also at our campus which provides an easy loan to every needy student of our college, IIT Varanasi.
Placements & Internships:
  • There are so many companies coming in my college for both an internship as well as placement due to a very big alumni network like in mechanical engineering, Tata steel etc.
  • The placement depends on our branch as well as our knowledge we earn in our college
  • In mechanical engineering, approximately 95℅ students got a campus placement at IIT Varanasi.
Admissions:
  • For taking admission in IIT Varanasi, I have to clear an joint entrance examination (JEE ADVANCED) conducted by all IIT's together fir their admissions.
  • The eligibility criteria for this examination are that you must have qualified to JEE MAIN paper with some minimum percentage in 12th board paper.

College Infrastructure:
  • There are 12 boys hostel and 4 girls hostel. Hostels are nice except they are old. Hostel fees is included in the course fee and is very less as compared to other colleges.
  • Very few pgs as hostels are the best place to live here.
  • Food in mess is delicious just like home food. You could have breakfast in Rs 20 and Lunch and dinner in Rs 40.
  • Classrooms, labs,library,wifi are all above the required level.
Placements & Internships:
  • I got selected for an internship of Rs 36,000/- for two months.
  • Almost all sort of companies come to our campus to recruit but the maximum are related to IT sector.
  • Average salary would be around Rs 17 LPA and highest salary is Rs 2.1 crore.
  • Since its an old college, we have very vast network of aluminis in every sector.
Fees and Scholarship:
  • Course fee per year is Rs 1.02 lakhs excluding mess fees.
  • Nothing much except one MCM scholarship.
  • Yes loans are very much needed and is very easily available.
Academics & Faculty:
  • The classes are from morning 8'o clock till 6:30 pm in evening.
  • The quality of teaching is awesome but methods could be improved as could use ppts and all to connect students more.
  • Overall its great experience to study here.

Fees and Scholarship:

Course fees is 45k per year.Scholarships are pretty decent which is 12400 per month.

Students can get loan very easily. During admission on the campus, there are banks available for sanction of loan.

Academics & Faculty:

Classes start from 8 am to 12 pm, 12 to 2 pm is for lunch then 2 to 4 pm or up to go up to 5 pm. There are two sessions before the end semester examinations.

Two or Three Class Assignments were used be given for each subject.

Faculty taught very well. Use of slide show and visual aids is common practice. Small and useful projects for a subject course is useful for creation of interest about a subject

Overall experience in the college is excellent, there i met with people from all across the India people from Kerala, people from West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Assam. I had an overall experience which improved my personality.
