PES Modern College of Engineering [PESMCE] Pune was established in 1999. The Institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education [AICTE] and also from Directorate of Technical Education [DTE]. The College is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and certified by University Grants Commission [UGC] and National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC]. 

The motto of Progressive Education Society is "EVER TO EXCEL", to create a collaborative academic environment to foster professional excellence and ethical values. .The College provides various courses in Engineering, Computer Applications, and Management. The College mission is to provide quality education and to impart technical skills to the students. PES Modern College of Engineering admissions is done on the basis of 12th examination results.

The ambitious plan of Modern College of Engineering was initiated in the academic year 1999-2000, In true sense, the activities of this society have always been 'Progressive' and 'Modern" inspired by the vision and goal and responsibility towards society. The college has been awarded as the "Best College in the Urban area" by the University of Pune in 2012.
