About Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, [NMIT] Bangalore

It is an Autonomous Institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), with the approval of UGC and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under Tier-1 scheme and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC-UGC) with A Grade.NMIT is the Youngest engineering college in the country to be conferred the prestigious Autonomous Status by UGC/Govt. of Karnataka, New-Delhi in the year 2007.NMIT is the Only unaided private engineering college in Karnataka State selected by the Govt. of India for World Bank Funding under TEQIP Phase II- Subcomponent 1.1 in the year 2011.

Eligibility criteria of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, [NMIT] Bangalore

B.Tech:

  • The candidate should have passed (10+2) or Higher Senior Secondary Certificate Examination with Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science as a Compulsory subject along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics from the CBSE or any of the recognized equivalent boards.
  • The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 45 % aggregate marks.
  • There is a relaxation of 5% for reserved category students.

 M.Tech:

  • The Candidate should have have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Instrumentation Technology / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Bio-Medical Engineering / Medical Electronics, AMIE in appropriate branch. GATE: EC, IT, EE obtained through the (10+2)+4 system from any of the recognized Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.
  • The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • There is a relaxation of 5% for reserved category students.

MBA/MCA:

  • The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline obtained through the (10+2)+3 system from any of the recognized Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.

Admission procedure of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, [NMIT] Bangalore

  • Admission through CET: Government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test tentatively in the month of April every year. Karnataka domicile students can apply for this test and the allotment of the seats is done online. 45% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through CET. In addition to this, 5% of Supernumerary quota seats are also made available for the meritorious- economically weaker students with the tuition fee waiver provision. For more details, log on to the website: kea.kar.nic.in during January/February.
  • Admission through COMED-K: A consortium of the managements of the private colleges of Karnataka conducts this test tentatively in the month of May every year. Both, Karnataka & NonKarnataka students can appear for this test. 30% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through a COMED-K test. For more details, log on to the website: www.comedk.org during January/February.
  • Admission through management quota: 25% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through management quota. Provisional admission formality starts in the month of April every year. 
  • Admission through SNQ quota for FN/ PIO/ NRI/ students whose parents work in Gulf countries: AICTE has approved 15% extra seats for foreign nationals/PIO/NRI/students whose parents work in Gulf countries over and above the sanctioned intake.

Hostel details of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, [NMIT] Bangalore

  • The College has modern hostel facilities in the campus for both boys and girls with in-house mess facility providing hygienic and nutritious diet.
  • Safety and comfort of the students is the primary focus and in-house wardens monitor the welfare of the students.
  • The hostels have solar systems and electrical geyser s for providing hot water apart from the modern amenities like recreation facilities , library, T.V Room, cafeteria, stationary cell, sports facility, multi-gym facility, multi-purpose co-operative society, reprographic facility etc.
  • There is an on-campus medical center and an MOU has been signed with hospitals like M.S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, Mathikere, and K.K.Hospital, Yelahanka, Aveeksha Hospital, Singapore layout, M S playa for providing medical facilities for students.
  • At present the college has three boy’s hostel blocks, Nethravathi, Kumaradhara and Shambhavi with a total of 850 capacity and two girl’s hostel blocks Kaveri and Nandhini with a capacity of 400. One more additional block for boys is under construction.

  • class timing: 9 AM to 3 PM
  • Good faculty, most of them pursuing PhDs, they are very helpful and knowledgeable, just sitting in the class is enough to understand the concepts
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:
  • Main festival:anaadyanta
  •  NMIT has Cricket, Football, Basketball and Hockey teams that it regularly take part in tournaments. If you are talented enough, you will surely be a part of the team though generally final and pre-final year students have an edge in making it into the team.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • Classes are 9AM to whenever they like, but max till 4PM. College busses leave at 4:50PM in Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology.

  • Not very Good Quality and method of teaching. Good for nothing fellows who don't get places and are capable of nothing else come and teach here. Students are more knowledgeable than teachers

  • Overall experience is this college sucks.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:
  • All clubs are managed by and are biased towards hostelites.  

  • Anadyanta Fest is an epic fail in Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology.

  • Life is horrible. There is nothing else to say. If you see this college, just run away.

  •                                assignment test is taken within each  15 days and three internal is taken

  • Method of teaching:- all faculties are well educated and method of teachin is exelent.
  • over all it is very good college
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:
  • ncc,nss, dance club,singing club, drama club,football club,volly ball, and lots of activities are available of student intrest.
  • college fest 'ANADYANTA'one of the bigest college fest in bangalore is held in the colege then 'YANTRA' branch fest,then freshres party ,ethinc day ,and lots of interesting things happend time to time in the college.

  • There are a lot of clubs in various regards but activeness of these clubs are low.

  • NMIT is pretty strict about attendance, you have to maintain 85% of attendance every semester.
  • Classes are taken regularly(sometimes they don't give us holiday for bandh also).
  • I wouldn't say quality and methods of teaching are amazing, it depends on the teacher.
  • The experience is average overall.
  • The overall experience in the college is pretty good because it provides you with lots of opportunities.
  • It is up to you how you grab them.
  • The college has a very good environment for people who are into sports as well.
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:
  • ANADYANTA is our grand college fest which takes place in the even semester every year.
  • It is huge and celebrated enthusiastically.
  • To work with the fest we have an art club, photography club, sponsorship club, tech club etc, which are very active throughout the year.
  • It's one of the biggest techno-cultural fest in Bangalore.
  • We have our own team of basketball, football and cricket in college,which takes place in various VTU events.
  • Overall life in college is pretty good.
  • As it is an autonomous college it provides with you very opportunities and it is getting better every year.
  • So if you want to have a peaceful life throughout your engineering with your personal growth, you can opt for this college without any hesitation.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: This is good place to do graduation as well post graduation. this is only the collage where actually research is going on in mainly CSE PG dept. lecturers are good, supportive for projects. Hod's and lecturers are very hard working and very much conscious about students future. this department are conductive so many knowledgable workshops. overall colg is good.
SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE: silent atmosphere, good to study.extra activity conducted as per schedule. nothing is around the campas that is lacking point of this collage.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: To start off with some good points about this college, it has a very good infrastructure, good faculty, fabulous placements. Coming to the Mtech Department of Computer Science, the HOD is very friendly and has a helping nature and the students are never baised. Supports every student and encourages them to come up in their career. This department has excellent and dedicated staff members and they do a lot of research work and get a lot of sponsered projects from institutes like DRDO and many more. This can be a stepping stone for every student towards success and have a bright career.      
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS: The college has a huge open theatre where alot of cultural and extra curricular activities are provided. Those are interested in writing articles and paintings are other stuffs are given an opportunity to show their talents. Sports is also given more preference too.
SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE: Ban of alcohols within the campus and the students are provided a lot of diversities. There are no bars or pubs in or around the campus.

Academic Eligibility for B.E. :

The student should have passed 2nd PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and obtained 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology. In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-17:
