Nalbari College is one of the oldest and largest colleges in Assam and was established in 1945. Initially, it was affiliated with Calcutta University, but now it is affiliated with Gauhati University. The institute is spread in an area of 16.10 acres. Nalbari College has a student strength of about three thousand students.

It offers higher secondary courses in both Arts & Science programs with major in all subjects except Statistics and PG course in Assamese. The college has 15 full-fledged departments and imparts teaching 14 major subjects at the degree level. The highlights of the college are mentioned below:
