Mysore Medical College is one of the oldest and most reputed medical colleges in India, started in 1924 by the founder Sri Krishnarajendra Wodeyar. Mysore Medical College is a Government college. The attached hospitals to MMC are K.R. Hospital, Cheluvamba Hospital, P.K.T.B and Chest Diseases Hospital, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research. Mysore Medical College is also known as Government Medical College, and well-known for its essential training and graduating their students year by year. 

Admissions to undergraduate courses can be gained through the CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by the Government of Karnataka or through the All India Entrance Examination. In 1924 the Government of Mysore started the Mysore Medical College to train the Sub Assistant Surgeons.

The college is well known for providing quality education in the field of medical science. Mysore Medical College was the first medical institution in the state and seventh in the country. Mysore Medical College Fees structure for major courses is different. The college has an alumni association which is active and extends its support in various fields, including MBBS course for four and half years + 1-year medical internship, M.D., M.S., Diploma, under UG & PG in medical and pharmacy.

Mysore Medical College offers both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. It uses NEET exam and State level medical entrance exams to select students for its UG and PG programs. MBBS course for four and half years + 1-year medical internship.

Mysore Medical College provides courses for both UG and PG programs, for which the students can take admission by going through details below. 

  • The application form is available on the Mysore Medical College official website.
  • The candidate has to fill in all the necessary details and attach the valid documents, passport size photo etc and submit.
  • Application fees can be paid online.

Admission process for undergraduate courses: 

  • Students must appear for CET conducted by the Government of Karnataka for 85% of the seats for which residents of Karnataka are eligible.
  • Admission to 15% seats of the All India Central Government quota, which is open to all citizens of India, is through the AIPMT conducted by the CBSE for the Government of India.
  • The process for UG can be done through the entrance exam KCET conducted by the Government of Karnataka.
  • The candidates have to appear for NEET with good rank to get admissions for the undergraduate course.

Admission process for Postgraduate courses:

  • Admission to the 75% of the PG programs is through the Post-Graduate entrance exam conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
  • Only residents of Karnataka are eligible for admission through that quota.
  • The admissions for the 25% seats of the All India Central Government quota are through the All India Post Graduate Medical entrance examination conducted by AIIMS.
  • These seats are open to any citizens of India, irrespective of the state of residence.
  • MMC Admission to PG is through the Post-Graduate entrance exam like NEET-PG conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science.
