LPU Infrastructure: Library, Hostel, Labs, Gym, Auditorium & Other Facilities

LPU infrastructure offers all the necessary facilities for the overall development of the students. LPU campus is the largest single-campus university in India, spread over 600 acres. LPU Punjab is equipped with smart classrooms, sports facilities, laboratories, hostels, a medical centre, etc.

LPU Jalandhar understands the expectations of the students who come to the college from various cultural and geographical zones worldwide. The university makes sure that this transition is smooth and comfortable. Lovely Professional University has a wide range of options that meet the needs of the students.

LPU campus premises have an in-campus hospital, shopping mall, food kiosks serving cuisines, from across the world, and outdoor as well as indoor auditoria & playgrounds. Apart from this, the university has around 55+ ATMs, 5 Banks, a Post Office, and various other on-campus facilities for students to grow and accomplish their goals. Hostels

The LPU hostels are called “a city within the campus”. The hostels are safe and secure and are made in apartment styles to provide a comfortable stay for the students. LPU infrastructure offers all the imaginable facilities, like a gym, mess, sports gym, swimming pool, and parking facilities. The Lovely Professional University hostels are considered top-class. The facilities available at the LPU hostels are mentioned below:

• LPU hostel facility includes an air conditioner/air cooler (as availed), an attached washroom and a geyser in each room.
• Every room contains a bed, study table, chair and partitioned almirah.
• 24 Hrs. security services, CCTV surveillance, electricity backup, water supply, staff assistance, and medical services (medicines and tests on payment).
• Over 400 full-time security officials are working at LPU to guard hostel premises 24*7.
• Study room, TV room, lift facility, Fire Fighting System, Purified Water Facility, maintenance services, Wi-Fi service, free electricity units (as applicable), and playgrounds.
• Indoor sports stadium
• Facilities like a swimming pool, warm-up pool, shooting range, squash court, badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, etc. are available to the LPU hostel students at 50% subsidized charges.
• LPU infrastructure features one and two seater apartments with attached lobby and kitchenette.
• Some of the facilities available on the payment basis include printing and copier shops in all hostels, guest rooms, car wash facilities, department stores, dedicated parking, cafeteria, saloon for boys, laundry facility, and tuck shops.

Library

LPU has a library system spread over 11 different branches. The biggest LPU library is the central library, located on Block 37. Equipped with over 24 lakh book titles and e-books, the Lovely Professional University Jalandhar library has one of the biggest collections.

• 24*7 library access.
• In addition, there is an admirable collection of rare books and special reports. The LPU library is fully automated from the RFID entrance to the LIBSYS software, making it easier for students to stay on campus because there are no long lines for issuing or depositing books. 
• In addition, the LPU Punjab library has a fully automatic issue-return counter/machine that ensures that transaction books are published and returned without difficulty. The library also features a cyber cafe with 150 computers for e-reading customers and a subscription to international quality online journals and databases spanning practically every topic.
• There are several departmental libraries included in the LPU infrastructure. The library has various subscriptions for journals, newspapers, and magazines. Dissertations and theses are also present in the LPU library.

Classrooms

LPU infrastructure offers smart classrooms with modern technology for an interactive and engaging learning environment. LPU Jalandhar has multimedia projectors and technical equipment installed in all classrooms and lecture halls. These teaching aids help in the communication and understanding of LPU University students.

Laboratories

The LPU infrastructure has various high-tech departmental laboratories. The labs have all the modern instruments required to execute practical experiments for various academic disciplines. Some of the main labs present on the LPU campus are:

Sports Facilities

Sport is an important part of the academic curriculum of LPU University. The university organizes various sports events for students to participate in. LPU Jalandhar students participate in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Championships, All India Inter-university competitions, and other national and international competitions.

The LPU infrastructure has one of the largest indoor sports complexes with an approximate floor space of 1.5 Lakh square feet. 40 LPU Sportspersons contributed to Indian Contingent’s best-ever performance at the Asian Games 2022.

Rightly termed as a “city within a campus”, LPU infrastructure includes a mall, various dining options, and bank facilities within the campus. There are over 50 shops, 10 gadget shops, restaurants, and departments. The Lovely Professional University Jalandhar facilities are listed below:

Medical Facilities

The LPU campus has a hospital for medical checkups, accidents, and first-aid. Over 25 well-trained, practising doctors and nurses are available 24x7. The LPU Jalandhar medical unit has all the operational units of a hospital. The college also has a physiotherapy clinic, a medical campus, and a 24x7 helpline.

Auditorium

The LPU Punjab Auditorium is well-equipped, providing a perfect atmosphere for symposiums, seminars, guest lectures, and other events. LPU infrastructure includes 3 halls, namely - Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis, Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, and Baldev Raj Mittal Auditorium, where the seating capacity ranges from 350 to 10000. 

Guest Room

The LPU infrastructure includes guest room facilities with hygienic accommodations, modern facilities, and a good ambience. The Lovely Professional University Jalandhar guest house also provides service to resource persons, experts, academicians, counsellors, and participating managers.
