IIT Gandhinagar was set in the year 2008. It is one of the 2nd generation IITs that the Government of India started. The institute offers B.Tech and M.Tech programs in various disciplines of Engineering. It also offers MSc and PhD programs in all the engineering and science disciplines. JEE Main 2024 exam dates have been released by NTA. JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam will be conducted between January 24, 2024 and February 1, 2024, whereas the session 2 exam will be held from April 1, 2024 and April 15, 2024. The registration process for JEE Main will start in December 2023 (tentatively). IIT JAM 2024 exam will be held on February 11, 2024. GATE 2024 exam between February 3, 2024 and February 11, 2024.

IIT Gandhinagar conducts a 5-week foundation program that has been acclaimed by the World Education Summit in 2013. Apart from this, the institute also offers travel allowances to students for presenting their work at national and international conferences. The institute provides attractive placements and internship opportunities as well. In 2021, the highest package offered was 55LPA, and the average package offered was 20 LPA.

IIT Gandhinagar Admission

IIT Gandhinagar admits students based on past academic merit and a valid score in the qualifying exam. IIT Gandhinagar offers admission to BTech, MTech, MA, MSc, and PhD courses. The entries are based on JEE Mains, IIT JAM, and GATE scores. The admission process is conducted in three steps: written, counselling, and merit.

IIT Gandhinagar Eligibility Criteria

IIT Gandhinagar admission offers various UG, PG, and PhD courses to candidates in several specializations. The main focus of the college is to provide entries in the field of engineering and technology in several disciplines. The eligibility criteria for some of the courses offered are given below.

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must complete their 10+2 qualifications from a recognized board.
• The qualifying marks for SC/ST students would be 65% in class 12.
• Candidates should apply for JEE Main.

M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must complete their bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks/5.5 out of 10 on a point scale in BE/BTech/MSc ( 50% marks for SC/ST candidates).
• Candidates with a valid GATE score (at the interview/written test) are eligible to apply for M.Tech.
• GATE is not required for application to M.Tech on a part-time basis or for the PGDIIT program.

PhD. Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must score at least 55% with CPI marks in MA/M.Sc./B.Tech./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in appropriate branches. 
• Eligible EWS/SC/ST/PD candidates will have relaxations, as per norms, in the selection criteria.
• The candidate can have an M.Sc in Basic Sciences with a 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks in aggregate in relevant disciplines, or
• The candidate can have an MBBS with a CGPA of 6.5 or 60% marks in aggregate, or
• The candidate can have an M.Sc/ M.A/ MBA/ M.Com in Humanities and Social Sciences or Management with a CGPA of 6.5 or 60% marks.
