Gulbarga University started its functioning in the year 1980 in Gulbarga, Karnataka. The university's main campus is situated 6km east of Gulbarga city. The University spans around 860 acres of area. The university has 38 post-graduate departments and 4 post-graduate centres located at Krishnadevarayanagar, Bellary, Raichur, and Bidar. The university offers courses in levels like PG, UG, M.Phi, and PhD programs.

• Health Centre: The University has constructed a Health Centre with two medical officers, one lady medical officer, one nurse, two technicians, one pharmacist, and other supporting staff to provide medical help as and when necessary.
