Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College was established in 1973. Late Pt. Mohan Lal Ji, former Home, Finance and Education Minister of Punjab is the founder of college management. The college propagates the knowledge that subsistence students to higher standards of competence and professionalism. The college has state of the art infrastructure. About GGDSDC Society:

Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College is registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. In the year 2000,' Mrs. Kaushaliya Devi Verma Charitable Institute' for Women was set up on the college campus in the memory of  Smt. Kaushaliya Devi Verma, wife of Prof Roshan Lal Verma, founder Principal of GGDSDC. The institute aims at providing vocational training to the women from economically weaker sections of society.

The SD college, Chandigarh conducts 6 months and one year-long course including cutting, tailoring, embroidery, cosmetology, computer, and other training. Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College has conducted training for  93 batches with 1054 trainees, who have completed the course in Cutting, Tailoring and Embroidery. As many as 840 trainees have completed the course in Cosmetology and Beauty Culture.  Governing policies of society are constantly reviewed keeping in mind the societal requirements and organizational goals. Society constitutes a Managing Committee from amongst its members.

The SD College library serves as the knowledge center for all of its departments. The library facilitates two reading halls with one outer section hall. GGDSD College library is fully automated with the integrated ERP software called the Campus Analyzer. The college library organizes book exhibitions every year on the college campus in different disciplines. The latest books by reputed publishers are arranged in the exhibition for the purpose. Accidental Coverage:

SD College makes sure that all the students are covered under the accidental insurance scheme to the tune of Rs. 1,00,000/-. The policy will provide for reimbursement of medical expenses, subject to a limit of Rs. 500, incurred by any student for his/her treatment in a hospital/nursing home as an in-patient, for any injury sustained in an accident during the session.
